Hi guys, first of all I love my RS wagon but can't help thinking about how much better it will look with a lowered stance. Since this wagon will be used with a newborn due in August I was hoping others had some experience in my situation as I obviously don't want the ride to be rough and unpleasant for a baby. So should i forget about lowering it or do the Eibach springs provide a good ride.

I have RS Diesel Wagon springs on my TSI Sedan. They work quite well except the front dampers weren't really up to the job so 15,000km after installing the springs i had to replace all the dampers with Koni Sport.
The rear spring rate is perfect with the dampers set to 3/4 turn from soft.
The front needs 1 turn from soft or it nods it head a bit too much on high frequency bumps.
Initial compliance is very good with konis, not so good with OEM.

Tigger has the Eibach lower springs
I used lower springs on stock shocks, the out come was hard and unstatisfactory
I switched to Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks - wonderful solution (back to factory ride height)

I've got the eibachs (20 mm) on mine.
Been more than a yr now (I think....) and its all good. Ride is still comfortable, for 18 low profiles, and it looks much better than stock.
My little girl was 2 yrs old then - no complaints.
My wifey - no complaints. Infact, she didn't even notice the difference in ride!!
.....or the slightly lowered stance!!
And she drives the car 90% of the time!

Fitted Eibach 30mm lowered springs (Factory option in EU) to my Fabia RS wagon a few weeks ago. Comfort is no different. Handling and look greatly improved. Ideally you would replace the shocks if performance is your main goal, but everyday driving the springs are fine on their own.

Cbay, I think you will find that you will get the full quoted 35mm drop on s 90tsi because your chassis sits 15mm higher than the VRS. I'm considering these springs too but after plenty of research I am quite tempted by H&R springs with the same drop. I have decided against dropping mine any lower than that.

Seems like a bit of mixed comments here. Where would one purchase these springs from? Getting them fitted isn't an issue as a family member is a mechanic.

I got my Eibachs off the forum (Brand new in box) & Konis from ECS tuning.
If you were considering height adjustable coilovers then Golf units fit (these pop up on the forums regularly too). Keep in mind that the smaller engined Golfs/Octavias have a 50mm strut & the larger a 55mm.
There was a good thread posted the other day about suspension mods / different springs & shocks for Octavia. Can't find it now.

It is not the spring alone that affects the ride. Important to remember that the spring needs to be matched to the shock. I'm using the Eibach pro (springs and shock kit bought from Eibach Australia). Lower, good handling and supple ride.

This is hard to believe but my wife actually said to me it needs to be a bit lower, after she was driving alongside me on the freeway after getting the tint done a few weeks back.

I have read that these springs are offered in the UK from the Skoda dealer as an option. Does anyone know if the shocks are also changed or do they keep the stock shocks?
