The other thing I'm thinking is that the bump stops might need a small amount taken off them. Say for a 20mm drop, 10mm off the bump stop.

It just feels a bit like under hard thumps there's a sudden stop at the end.

Absolutely - usually during hard driving at speed, the car reaction to bottoming out was alarming to say the least

So is anyone having these problems with the eibach 20mm lower springs on the rs wagon while using the correct part number for that car?

No - the Eibach springs are good

I'm having no issues at all. Been more than a yr.

Don't forget, the 20mm eibach prokit was a Skoda accessory in Europe. It IS designed to be used with the oem shocks, for the vRS models at least.
The non-vrs octavias would get a bigger drop, and hence won't b a good idea with those stock shocks.

Yep, I have the eibach springs with OEM shocks.
I like the ride... But I don't have a baby on board.

The only prob that makes my ride firm is the 19" wheels and tyres. In hindsight I would have stayed with 18" rims... But I really liked the wheel style so I went 19". They look great, but do make the ride firmer.

The guys at eibach were great to deal with.

Fronts about 45m-1hr per side in a workshop IIRC

                  3 hours tops
So say $300-$500 depending on what hourly rate the mechanic would have (ie sole trader or dealer style mechanic).

So could be up for about $700-$800 for supply and install to lower the car 20-30mm??

that's how much it cost to have mine done.

So for those that have the Eibach lowered springs with stock shocks, can I ask, do these lowered springs assist in anyway with more front wheel traction/less axial tramping etc, or are they purely for handling (cornering)?

No difference in axle tramp at all.
I installed a Dub Addiction 98duro torque arm insert and that solved my axle tramp issues. Now she sits flat and spins like no tomorrow... Accelleration out of corners is so beautiful, too!
Massively horrible vibrations on idle but it settled down within 2,000km (about 8-10 days)

I have the VWR springs, and they make a difference in cornering, but undulating country roads now feel horribly floaty and scary, when they used to be able to be taken with confidence... But new shocks will *probably* solve that.

i don't drive it hard regularly to get axle tramp.

as for cornering - they help slightly. its not night and day.
i'm getting rear swaybars installed in a few weeks - now that will be night & day in terms of difference in handling (cornering).

made a huge difference on my previous car.
