I'm pretty certain at this stage that my next car will be a the new RS wagon. Can't wait for it to hit our shores.
Anyone have any idea on where the pricing will sit? Any chance of getting in one under $40k?
Its unlikely it'll be more than the current one, since thats the trend VWA has been setting, so expect about $42-44K driveaway for the DSG version. Standard kit should be good, though I'd be saying those crazy black and silver mags are options.
They'll do their usual thing & price the new model excessively high for the early adopters. They'll maintain that price & twice a year have a sale to reduce excess floor stock.
Occasionally they'll find a vehicle that somebody has forgotten about & they'll sell that for ridiculously cheap money.
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Hopefully I can pick up a demo under $40k, or maybe even a used one that comes up really early... I really don't mind buying near-new. Let someone else take the depreciation hit

I think my Dad had an FB Holden in that colour grey with a milky salmon pink roof.
I don't mid matte grey (the Velosters look great) but that Skoda looks like primer + clear (thanks Twin Dad, I couldn't put it better) & therefore a bit of a bet each way. Maybe it's better in the flesh

Speaking of which, the veloster is also available in the primer-esque grey, they call it Battleship. I've seen one at night with it and it looks fantastic, hoping it suits the Octavia in real life.
That grey colour reminds me of an old bloke that lived down the road from me many years ago. He was an ex-Navy guy and managed to get hold of a load of surplus battleship grey paint and not wanting to to waste it, painted his entire house with it!
Yep, battleship grey is a great colour for, well... battleships!
