  • A slight hijack for a few posts...

Can anyone confirm how much wider the track would be if I fit rims with the following specs to a Skoda RS?

    18 x 8 ET45
    PCD 5x112
    with 225/40r18

And do rims that fit a mk6 Golf fit the Skoda's or are there issues with centre bore measurements?

    • The distance between the inner rims will be same as stock
The distance between the outer rims will be 26mm wider

Same center bore size with MK6

      • I reckon these both suit Tigger's car and driving style PERFECTLY!!

@Tigger- You'd better have them by next meet. ;p

At that price I guess the (questionable?) rep of APEC doesnt matter too much.. well depending on what the car will be used for.
At THAT price?!... These are mine, at the price I paid: 18x7.5 Panther Flite
Was skeptical at first, but they look mint on the car. Feel great too!!... Tyres aren't up to much chop until you wear a good 1-2mm off them, which doesn't take much considering how much sliding you'll do.
But thats okay - the sooner they wear out, the sooner they'll get replaced!!

Thanks Martin. Very helpful. Do I buy rims before I buy a car? ha

No worries - don't buy rims yet - you never know which car/colour you will end up with

Wow ok.. I really need to research things more, I had no idea prices were that low via Australian dealers. That comes up looking pretty good..

Now you got me looking at options again. Damn it.

Are there any real dramas buying these sort of brands? I know they won't be constructed the same as the high end stuff..

I feel exactly the same. I'm slightly, ok more than slightly, obsessed about matching wheels with cars.

I've discovered it's a lot cheaper than actually going out and buying some myself - and no next day buyers remorse.

Exactly! Also gives me an excuse to spend extra time on 'Photoshop practice'. I can even attempt to gauge my level of buyer's remorse lol.

So to keep the thread rolling... Lately I've been obsessing about Q5 wheels... not sure if I still like them now.

                      Any thoughts?

                      • They are a pretty good match for the car - they just aren't impressive
(If you spend $ on mags they have to float your boat otherwise next day remorse will set in)

No...they look a bit "ordinary"....or as Lex would say "how ya going"...

Hey could you (the photoshop master) do a shot of the ones I like from a few pages back please?
I would love to see them on a platin grey wagon.....

agreed, they're nothing special - my initial thinking was "SUV wheels for SUV ride height" was really interested in the aggressive offset without increasing the distance from the strut (http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit)

I'd need a view of them completely side on, I'll see if i can find one later when i'm on my desktop computer.

and a master? hardly, but i'm definitely getting a lot of practice photoshopping wheels. pity it won't help with my job...

Haha.. I've always wanted to try this; I'm the 'resident' photoshopper of colleagues at work except I don't photoshop, I'm stuck playing with the default Paint program.

Agreed with the others here, it works but is too nondescript. Next..
