If you want to stick to more of the OEM look have you considered the Khartoums? Or too much black?

Thanks for your feedback! I do really appreciate it.
It is amazing too, that one of the main reservations I had, was the "lack of outer rim", just as you have all said...
I do like the machine face / black insert style (yes, similar to the detroits...)

I am getting desperate to make a decision now, and find the choices so limited!

Budget is approx $2500 (including good tyres), so I know that limits it a bit...

      All suggestions appreciated.
      have you looked at Tirerack?
Put in the details for a late model Passat or a Jetta & then order by weight & you might be surprised what you can get for small $
There are at least 3 quality tyres that come in at <$700 a set.
shipping is $380. tirerack mount & balance for free.

It leaves you with about $1100 budget just for the wheels - you'll almost get OZ Ultraleggeras for that (they start at $357). Enkei PF01 are $307. Enkei Tuning Fujin/Raijin are $225. Sparco Assetto gara $176. Moda MD15 are similar to what you like $134. Enkei Performance G5 is also similar for $176. You don't want to go much beyond 22.5lb (10kg).

Have you looked at the BBS motorsport wheels in the For Sale section? They are $3k with tyres atm but you might be surprised what a motivated seller will reduce their price down to

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

        Yes indeed they are

in my opinion they match up with the platin grey wagon very nicely. i think they're A7 replicas.

I think these look sick, I would definitely consider these if I still had black roof rails

Holy #$%*! that's cheap.. I love that design too.. don't get me back in the wheel hunt.

At that price I guess the (questionable?) rep of APEC doesnt matter too much.. well depending on what the car will be used for.

I'll believe it when I see a pic of the car with new wheels on.

I'll be a little lost without this thread though, can someone else ask for new wheel opinions?

                      • I promise that whenever I finally find a Skoda wagon that I will ask opinions on wheels...unless I find Fat/Flat Fives in the meantime. If I do, no opinion need be sought...

LOL, I had no idea what you meant until I googled, now I know exactly what they are.. I think they'd work well on the wagon so long as there was quite a drop in stock height.

Absolutely! Bluefrogs car in this picture I think looks amazing

I agree that the A8 wheels are definitely one of the best.
