Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Not sure about whether the OCtavias actually do have LHD or RHD versions for tail lights but the polo's did which prevented me getting in a set and a mate who bought a set had to modify them to fit (electrical and globe positioning on left vs right etc). Pretty sure vaglink did state the LED's were LHD cars only.

          Its an online retailer: www.vaglink.com

Tried the link again just then and for some reason it wouldnt load. Maybe they went bust or updating their website? Don't know.

Got the eibach springs, whiteline anti-lift kit and Whiteline control arm inner front bushes installed today. Just waiting on the rear adjustable sway bar to arrive. So far so good. No wheelspin so far even in the wet but then again I didnt push it too hard. Will take photos of the lower stance in a few days after the springs settle. The skoda centre caps i ordered were the correct diameter but were too short to clip in so will have to somehow modify the audi ones that came with the wheels and probably get a skoda centre badge of some sort to cover it up.

Isnt there something with rear fog lights and LHD setup that makes them not legal in our neck of the woods?
ie they have a white and red light setup, with white on the right for us to show which side of the road you are on (because we drive on the 'correct' side of the road) and reversed for everyone else?

Exactly!!! That's the reason why there are indeed differences with tail lights. Some times, sellers may not tell you whereas other will list that its LHD only. I couldn't get the LED tails for my last polo gti as they did not come in RHD. A mate bought the LHD version but had to modify them to suit but TBH, I don't want to be doing any of that.

My sprint booster novelty came in the mail today and got it installed in less than 15mins. Quite easy. Only thing was the factory lead/plug was bloody short. If it were another 1-2mm shorter, then I wouldn't have been abel to install the damn thing. Otherwise, its a fun addition. Certainly makes things feel more exciting and more punchy with less effort on the get go

Tell me more about the Uprated audi S3 diverter valve & Forge diverter valve...
Did it help with lag at all? Where did you get it and what are the pros and cons?

I thought the Diverter Valve from the S3 just had a stronger rubber section in it meaning it could stand the higher boost demands from a tune TSI engine and the Forge Diverter Valve was purely a noise addition to the car?

Don't quote me on it, I might be completely wrong!!!

No real difference felt or change in lag or anything like that. Only did it due to the reports of the the diaphragm tearing in tuned cars after a while so thought I might as well get everything done at the same time. Forge diverter valve spacer is only for the BOV sound so really only a novelty for some fun but will be taking it off once the exhaust system is purchased.

Correct from the accounts of what I've read. Plus the design is slightly different but definately stonger.
