Checked with the dealer and he quoted $120! Going to have another look on fleabay and aliexp. I'm after a rigid plastic sill protector as there will be lots of kids stuff being loaded in and out of the car on a regular basis.

I think when you price up the freight on these it will work out to this price or more even for the non-OEM parts. Freight prices on bulky/long parts is expensive - particularly when shipping international.

You may be lucky and save a few $ but for this item I would just purchase from the dealer. You may be able to save $10-20 but quality and fitment are not guaranteed plus you have warranty on the local supplied items should there ever be an issue .

      • I installed these 6000K bulbs yesterday. Given they were less than $20 a pair delivered, I bought two sets in case they die.

I had no expectation that they would be any good however I was pleasantly surprised to find that they appear to be a very good match for the current gen OEM HIDs out there. They are definitely 'whiter' than the stock D1S globes I had (interestingly one was a Philips and one an Osram) and they give very good output.

I suspect they are probably counterfeit, but they do have Philips stickers on them with 'assembled in Germany' on them.

Colour match with the LED DRLs is now excellent. Considering the Philips Xenarc bulbs are normally about $160 a pair this is a bargain.

Note that I have the Dynamic Xenons, this is a straight bulb swap only, not an HID retrofit.

Apologies for the awful pic but the LED DRLs may even be a slightly lower colour temp than these bulbs...

I already have my Octy 3 Ambition wagon and I was quoted $200 (not fitted) by Skoda spares in Adelaide, so your price is quite a bargain.

The standard Skoda sill protector just sits on top but there is a UK manufacturer called Rearguard that makes a protector with a lip over the edge which is actually the part most susceptible to damage. Base price is 44 pounds + freight.
You get a choice of finishes including faux carbon fibre which not only looks good but is obviously the lightest one

I like the look of that one, esp the lip. It would do the job nicely! Hmmm

              • If ordering things from Super Skoda, throw in some other prettiness to make the postage worthwhile... Like an interior LED kit, or LED DRL kit or something

                • Ive recently bought dtuk. Does anyone know the features of each setting i cant seem to find it on dtuk website itself. The new box comes with 3 map setting instead of 4 and there are 3 + & - each side. Currently ive set it to map 2 . 1+ Immedietely i could feel the difference from stock.

I have emailed andrew yesterday and asked him about the differences between map. I have not got a response yet.

                      • I got a SuperSkoda one and because it added height to the sill, the boot lid hit it and chipped the paint off all along it.

                        • Hey guys was wondering if any of you had changed your intake pipes as in to and from the intercooler and noticed a big change?

I did the two either side of the IC (turbo outlet & IC outlet I guess they are called) and possibly boost comes on a fraction earlier - maybe.

When I fitted them I also did some very minor mods to the air filter box & deleted the first stage catcon so it's a bit hard to quantify individual changes. My gut feeling is the catcon delete made the most difference & makes the turbo come on about 200rpm earlier.
