Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    key lost.. locksmith?

    I’ve lost my only set of keys to my Fabia. I really need to drive in a few hours.. should I call a locksmith?

    Well as this Forum is in Australia might take a while to get there

    I think you know the answer but even if you open it how will you start it if it has a smart key

      Yes, call a Locksmith.

      As you haven't stated where in the US you are I can't recommend someone directly but I do have a link that will help you. As Locksmith Scammers are pretty big in the states I have a couple of tips.

      Get a quoted price up front, anyone who knows how to do the job will know the cost BEFORE they start.
      There is no need to do ANY damage to your car to make a key, AT ALL.

          Can only go by what he writes in his sig. If he wants to be evasive thats to his own detriment.
