Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Saw a BRAND-SPANKING new Bright Yellow 2010 RS Wagon at Ryde Hospital this morning. It was overcast this morning, and it really was quite bright!

Also, I went to a cousins' in Kurrajong to look at her new house and I peered over the fence and what did I see? A 2008 Octavia 1.9TDI Wagon (Y) I was totally suprised, as equally so as the guy who owned it!

Also saw a 2.0TDI hatch in grey with the sports suspension/17" wheels (v nice - should be standard) and a silver TSI hatch. All just yesterday!

Saw a Silver Octavia wagon on Railway Rd/Station Rd corner in Wesburn this afternoon. Wasn't an RS but didn't see what trim it was.

It may have been a Eurocar rental racer I have seen one silver and one dark coloured one around the eastern suburbs in the last 3 weeks or so.

Was training with a mate on Yarra Bvd Sunday afternoon when a yellow RS wagon drove past and stopped at the lights onto Swan St. "That's very yellow", my mate said as it drove past. Yeah, I thought. Oh hang on. Then explained vRS status and how they're 10% more powerful / torquier than the one wagon I own.

It was "spot the Octavias" day in Canberra today :

Blue Octy sedan (hatch) TDI near Repco at Tuggeranong

Grey Octy sedan at Repco at Fyshwick (hmm, maybe something about Repco is attracting them ?)

Yellow vRS Octy wagon at the lights on Hindmarsh drive at Phillip - SNAP ! And he even saw me and waved back

I'm sure I miss noticing them a lot more when they are driving around, as the sedans in blue, gey and silver don't stand out very much (well, not like the bright yellow wagons do, anyway )
2017 MY18 Golf R 7.5 Wolfsburg wagon (boring white) delivered 21 Sep 2017, 2008 Octavia vRS wagon 2.0 TFSI 6M (bright yellow), 2006 T5 Transporter van 2.5 TDI 6M (gone but not forgotten).

Saw my first RS wagon not in a showroom this afternoon in Macleod (melb).
Sure has a presence on the road, it was black with dark tint. Must say the bonnet emblem sure stands out. I hope the Anthracite looks as good.

Anthracite is a great colour for the RS. We have delivered a couple and they look amazing. When do you get yours?

Should be unloaded by the end of the year but will hold it on the docks to get 2010 compliance. Were in no hurry but look forward all the same.

IMHO there's no point in doing that. Buyers of s'hand cars place far more importance on the build date than the compliance date, even MY is more relevant. Get the car as soon as it arrives in Oz and start enjoying it

If you must, order one to be actually built in 2010 (but then you probably won't be driving it until march/april).

Most people look at the rego sticker and for the sake of a couple of weeks Ill wait. Besides it will be nice to have one of the first 2010 reg cars around
