My father-in-law showed me the spare wheel on his car - looked perfect. He said he'd painted it with a brush, I couldn't see a single brush stroke.

Trouble is he's in his 70's and a master craftsman and wouldn't tell me his secret how he does it.

I just masked up the tyres, stuck the masking tape between the rim and tyre. It's not that smart close up. The spare wheel which I did first came out best. The others I rushed.

Top tip, I just sprayed the inside of the wheel with ordinary matt black rather than waste a $20 can of plastidip.

Still waiting on my package from Germany... DHL says it's in the hands of aus-post now so hopefully before the week is out as I want them for happy laps this weekend.

In the mean time got to plastidipping my wheels was good fun and looks pretty good unless you're right up close.
not sure how durable it's going to be though especially at the garage when the guys are doing the suspension.

Also got to perv on this the other day out at Graceville. Very nice and had an oettenger badge on the back

So after happy laps I realised my handling is way off where it should be. Really vague. And I was blowing a bit of smoke so I'll have to see to that.
Got in contact with jimmy. (Jmac alba European) after a good tip off here. And he's booked me in for next week.
I'm really confident he'll be able to sort out the car. Plus it's always good to meet another weegiee.

First thing with handling is to get an 4 wheel alignment set to S3 specs.
These cars are sensitive to toe settings. Get them set to minimum.

Cheers for the advice. And I hadn't got around to posting on here but I got the exact same advice from jimmy at alba euro. So I'm sure you are right.

Other than that. The car is doing well now. Got another couple of hoses replaced and a coolant temp sensor. Seems to be happier, except with morning starts. I've been told the fuel pressure drops over night and needs to build back up again. It starts first time but chokes and splutters to life rather than just a smooth start. Any other ideas what it could be or does this sound right? Any way to fix it?

So, bought a 3" downpipe online today and that is on order. I've got a booking with Jimmy on the 31st of this month for coilovers so hopefully it all arrives by then and I'll get it all fitted at once. ready for April's happy laps.

Does anyone know if I'll notice a power increase from just the downpipe itself or is that where the tune comes in?

Looking into an front mount intercooler also...what's peoples opinions on then, worth it? I can get one and fit it for about $800. Will my tune be crap without one (too much hot air...not enough flow?)

also I'm guessing the car will be louder? anyone know if it'll be significant, I don't really want a loud exhaust system, but a bit of noise under power is always welcome.

What should I look into next, DV or catch can?

                Too many questions?

Powerflex Dogbone mount bush arrived today. Everyone says it makes a massive difference so hoping to notice a bit less engine rock between gears.

                  Downpipe on order still .

Been torturing myself this week looking at wheel setups, just can't justify the money at all at the moment.

Here are my favourite combinations at the moment.

                    rota grid 18x9.5

                    and Enkei rpf1's same dimentions

Man Audi centre Indooroopilly are useless.

My drivers side window went down and wouldn't come back up.

Did a bit of research and took the door card off turns out the rear window clip was broken.

Called Audi at 4pm and said it was urgent because I could put my window up obviously an issue. Said no one from parts could answer but they would call back immediately.

They didn't. Oh well. Yanked on the window glass and pulled it up and stuck it in the car port for now. Will deal with it later.

main stealers mate are hopeless as a rule. i don't like to generalise and occasionally you find one good guy at dealer that is worth keeping in contact with to help out; but on the whole my experience has been bad...

also with the rota 18x9.5, unfortunately i'd say don't do it. cop magnet and nothing but trouble on mine, loved them though...

S3 has a reasonably sized IC so you'll have to go significantly bigger to notice an improvement. I'd stay with the stocker & fit water injection to cool the charge.

Car is in at the mechanic's at the moment.

Coilovers getting put on and downpipe/decat ready for stage II.

turns out it wasn't as simple as I thought. Jimmy gave me a ring and the whole downpipe isn't fitting at all right...is this common, surely the part should fit the car...grrr

Oh well, I feel bad for Jimmy sounded like boll*ks of a job, hopefully no knocking issued when I get it back but not being too hopeful

Fitted the dogbone rubbers too so should stop some rocking.

In other news boost gauge is coming soon to keep track of the tune once I get it.

It's supposed to be relentless or (xs-power) de-cat version...the eBay I bided on has gone now but this is basically the same with a cat!
