installed rear upper and lower control arms and had it set-up by Ken at accurate suspension. Will need some arch work before I can squeeze on the 265 tyres but I'm getting closer...



I used this guide for the torque settings which might be useful to others...



and this one for the rear arb bolts...



and finally thought I'd post this here as I'll need it to install my harness...

I tried making my own boost pressure test kit...



and failed...

even after the oil cooler upgrade I'm still suffering high temps on the track so I decided to try one of these...



it was a bit of a pig to install without removing the front of the car but it is possible. I left the plastic on to try and prevent scratching or bending of fins...



I've heard good things about these radiators so I've got my fingers crossed...



water meth is on the way too to try and reduce temps even further...

rear brake calliper bracket adapters worked out nicely...

and its pretty hard to tell but they fill the rear wheels quite nicely, not even a wheel weight will fit through...



in comparison to the rs3 stoppers on the front...

after numerous failed track sessions blowing boost hoses the cars coming good. I managed to get my pb a street sprints a few weeks ago...

then the next session I attended at time attack I managed to break in to the 60's for the first time. high 60's but I'm claiming it...



cars feeling really strong now and think I can feel the advantage of the extra 10mm tyre width but not sure if I prefer the AR1 to the nexens. I'll wait until the nexen are completely dead and move back to nankang to let the track time do the talking. saying that the nexens are very old now after after so much track time missed...

I have a few more mods planned for the s3 but as I always say, its the driver mods that need more work. my next goal is get in to the 59's...

bit disappointed with my last run at lakeside. I felt like I was improving in some sections, definitely staying flatter through the kink and hungry but slower overall. think it was a case of too fast in and slower out...

only managed a couple of sessions until I started to feel I vibration through the steering wheel. came in to the pits to check wheel studs as it felt like my wheel was going to fall off which is pretty unnerving at 200kph through the kink. I couldn't find anything so back out I went thinking it might be some rubber debris on the tyre. nope, same problem...

decided I'd swap the wheels in case I dropped a wheel weight which is when I spotted this on the front left...



pretty certain that's my problem. new tyres need to be ordered. onwards and upwards...

went to the Noosa Hill Climb...



got scrutinised...



turned up to the driver briefing...



registered a check engine light and loss of power...



left the Noosa Hill Climb and went back to the hotel...



tried cleaning the sensor as I found grease on the end...



cleaning didn't work so i swapped the sensor front rear and the fault followed...



pleaded Audi Sunshine Coast to open their parts department on a Saturday, thank you guys...



fixed the fault and went back to the hill...



couldn't be bothered queuing up in the rain after all that and decided to try again next year...



hotel was really good for storage so I'll use that again...



decided to give the car a bath when I got back, it was covered in filth...



not much fun in the rain but a good group of people...

a few minor updates on the weekend. fitted a gearshift riser which I bought before the coolerworx so thought I'd install for the time being as it was an easy job...



also fitted some gauges as I'm keen to keep an eye on boost for any leaks and also oil temp sensor. I didn't have time to wire up the oil temp sensor yet, hence no illumination on the middle gauge. the voltage sensor is just to fill the gap but also pretty handy as my car doesn't get much use and suffers from battery drain...



it's not perfect but I think the colours match the original clocks pretty well...

this is the picture from the last 3 track days and I'm determined not to make it a 4th...



I've tried 3 different type of band clamps, worm drive, constant tension and t bolt. I think the turbo muffler delete spigot flange just doesn't have enough friction on it, its like an ice pole...



its a CTS one that came with turbo outlet kit but its useless, I'm hoping this mamba one will be a lot better. I'm also going to try and clamp the silicone hose on while the muffler delete is off the car so I can see its seated well. I just hope I can get access to all three bolts to then bolt it to the turbo...



I think you can see in this photo the new muffler delete has a lot more pronounced "barb" on it and the grooves should help compress the hose in to them...
