I've been reading and reading and reading the forum for the last few months to learn more about my next car. On the eve of picking up my new, patiently awaited, Passat R36, I thought it was close enough to being an owner to annouce myself. So, hello!

Hey All,

I will soon be taking the plunge and buying a VW Golf once I've sold my current car (Toyota Aristo). I'm looking for a mk 2 gti ideally....2 door would be amazing but I have a feeling that's going to be insanely difficult. I've grown up with VWs as my dad has had a beetle for as long as I can remember, he's currently in the process of building up a new one with a larger engine, weber carbies etc etc.

So yeah, hope to stick around!

Hi all. Been reading with interest since having some problems with the fiancee's MKIV Golf window regulator clips. Between this site and VWVortex, all my maintenance needs have been fulfilled.

Now, to find out more about this Passat 125TDI Highline my dealer is hinting at...

Hi there,
Looks a really interesting place for everything VW.
The toy is a MY08 Golf V 2.0L TDI Pacific with DSG and Ipod, new May 09. Pretty standard. But both goes well and is economical when required. Just did Brisvegas Sydney return. Three of us with Xmas load, so packed to the gunnels. Left with around 2/3 tank, didnt check. Filled at Coffs, then didnt need anything after five days driving all round Sydney until on the F3 headed North. Got home with '200' DTE showing having travelled 895k on that tank. Av 5.5l/100k with air on and shared driving. Awesome. (use BP, dealer said.)
Raises the bar and leaves it there.

was surprised though because im so used to driving the big 6's

but I doubt Id buy anything different now

I put down my deposit on a MkVI GTI end of November, delivery next month.
