  • Greetings all - I'm Clive, currently driving a Polo GTI with Stage 1 APR tune. Been thinking about upgrading to the Golf R - came across your forum when the prices/specifications got leaked prior to release and been hooked ever since!

Great forum, glad to be a new member - avagoodweekend!

      • Price Guidance on new 5 door Golf GTI?

I have just arrived at VWWatercooled.

Apologies if this post is in the wrong section but wanted help as I am considering a new GTI 5 Dr DSG with Metallic Paint, Leather seats, MDI and Bluetooth

What should I expect to pay driveaway following discount?

I am guessing I need bluetooth to be able to answer my phone from the controls on the steering wheel?

          • Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to join this forum and in particular the Tiguan section, whilst waiting for a 147TSI Tiguan to be delivered in December.

Currently drive a Mk5 Golf GTI and pretty much wanted to keep to the same thing, whilst addressing the constant nagging from the Mrs about upsizing. And "yes" the Tig passed her "upsize" test.

Anyhow have found the info posted in that section very useful in our purchase of the Tig and wanted to contribute to it also.

            Cheers,
            aussietig

            • New Tiguan - pick up on Thursday

              Hi everyone,

First post on the forum ever. I just want to say thank you for all the useful information that can be found here, definitely helped me a lot with my decision to purchase a Tiguan 103TDi.

On that note, am picking it up on Thursday. Very excited and will be a first time VW owner. 103TDI, Auto, Reflex Silver, Leather, Sunroof, MDI, Comfort Package...and other bits and pieces.

Look forward to joining this forum, and hearing more from other VW owners/enthusiasts in due course.

              Cheers,
              Andrew

              • New Golf GTi owner

                Hi All

Got my MY09 Mk V GTi the other week and love it! Just waiting another 8 months for the manufacturers warranty to run out then will be heading out to find a nice ECU tune. Not looking for stupid amounts of power, just enough to give it a nice little kick - so far considering Oettinger and Bluefin but all opinions welcome!

                • Potential Skoda owner

                  Hi All,

Very interested in picking up my first Skoda. Leaning towards the Superb Estate TDI or V6.

Unfortunately there is 1 dealer in Perth so I'm worried about order lead times and ability to negotiate on price. Might have to look at sourcing one interstate.

                    • need you help with buying a new GTI

                      Hi Guys,

Looking to buy a new white, 5 door DSG and need some help with what options I should get. I have a budget of circa $48k and was thinking Xenons, 18 inch detroits, bluetooth, mdi and tint.

                      Your thoughts??

                      • Hi salesplacements,

personally, from what you've said, i'd skip the tint for starters, because it's four hundred buckaroos for just two windows.. You'd be able to get it for around the high 300s (high end) with a company like tint-a-car or something.. Xenons are great but apparently they are super expensive when they need changing, I'm not sure but I remember reading somewhere that it costs up to 250 to change (Swallows tongue)... I'd say go ahead with the mdi and choose the sat nav option, i'm pretty sure that the RVC is included with that. Also maybe park assist for the missus? Just a thought ahah.. HAving said this, if you're planning on 'doing up your car', aftermarket parts are also readily available. Have you got the price list for all the options? If you don't already, I can PM you the link to one I found online, it'll hep with your budgetting.

                              • Hi all,
First time poster here although I've been visiting here for quite a while. Looking at getting a new Polo GTi (or maybe a Golf Gti if I can be convinced). I have been wanting to get back into a turbo'd car for a while having owned an R32 Skyline, 2 mazda 13b turbo 808's (wagon and sedan). I still have the wagon as a weekender. Current ride is a Peugeot 206GTi, which is fun, but want something new, small, turbo'd, efficient and preferably an auto for hassle free driving into the city every day.
Great site, and looking for some helpful tips on mods when I can.

                                Regards,
