Hey guys my names saxon.
I own a green a4 b5 turbo, hate the thing, its an absolute lemon!! therefore in the market for a mk1 rabbit, quick question though. What are the prices like for parts? iv just spent 4k on my audi since in been trying to sell it!
id like to avoid the same problem with my next car, so id like to get some idea on how much parts are prior to buying one...

Just joined watercooled and the ranks of VW owners (though my mother still has the 1967 1300 beetle we bought in Nigeria in 1970).

Proud owner of a mud-splattered new MkVI GTI, 3-dr manual, Candy White with MDI, tint and reversing camera. Fiscon BT and sunroof in very soon.

Hi all,

Just got my first watercooled VW, a black 2007 Golf TDI 2.0 DSG. It wasn't very well looked after by the previous owner and has a number of small dents and scratches which I'll have repaired. It's got about 50,000 km and seems to have been maintained according to the maintenance schedule.

I actually learned to drive in a VW, my dad's new 1971 Beetle. Unfortunately, I also learned how to crash in a VW when I went through the windshield of the same car a few months later. (Rear-ended a '67 Bonneville which had stopped to make a turn.) Over the next few years I worked as a delivery boy and drove a series of Squarebacks and Fastbacks, most of which suffered a similar fate. Hopefully I've outgrown that habit.

Looking forward to learning more about this car and what to do with it from the experts - you guys.

Hi All,

Bought at Mk6 GTI in December 09. It is my first VW and although there are some quirks and annoying quality issues, overall there is just something indescribable about it as a whole that makes it so damn good that it makes me smile every time I drive it.

I have been looking at this forum for a while now and and have found it incredibly useful to help me learn a few new things and also resolve some of the issues my car has had.

Thanks to everyone on this forum who contributes their experience and knowledge - it has been invaluable.

I have just joined the forum after spending the past week searching the net for info and pics on the Mk6 GTi!! The reason for this is that I have just ordered one and have to wait until December for delivery

Anyway, I am seeing this as a bit of a help to get me through the long wait.... I sort of wish now that I didn't test drive it and just bought the car, as it was so addictive!!

Passat fuel problem.

Hey Im Sarah Im 19 yrs of age and i just got my first car and the problems have began...

My baby is a 98 v6 Volkswagen Passat 2.8 30valve.
Purchased it about 2 weeks ago, Has full service logs, timing belt water pump ect all just been done 180,000k on the clock...

I am having a problem with fuel i put 98 premium in and i am currently using about 18L\100km???

I doubt it is the airflow meter as it idels and drives perfectly fine...
I am check plugs tomorrow... but am doubtful that dirty plugs would course such a huge increase in fuel consumption...

Thinking of purchasing a code reader off ebay but then again im going to keep the car so replacing items such as the o2 sensor and plugs ect anyway, but i was just wondering if anyone on here knows of any common issues, as i have noticed several other sensors running off vacuum lines that im not sure about.
