  • Service requirements

Hi all, I own a 2002 VW Golf 1.6SE and a 2002 VW Passat Wagon 1.8T, bot great cars.

I have very bad experiance with both major VW service (dealership) centres in Perth, so will be servicing the cars somewhere else from now on.

I was wondering if anyone know if there is any specific service requirement beyond the standard for the Passat 1.8T at ~100,000km? (major 90,000 was done at dealership, so this service should be standard)

    Thank you,
    Eran

        • Hi

I found out about VWWatercooled via a little flyer left under the wiper of my car, when I was at the gym. I was never really into cars until - (after having to wait an agonising 6 months for my car to arrive in Brisbane) I took hold of a Golf-GTsport. I think every aspect of this car is great and have a lot of fun driving it.

Hello. I catch buses. My wife has a car. If I'm lucky, I sometimes get to drive at the weekend, or when we go out and it's her turn to have a vino or two.

We are replacing her Subaru Liberty with a Golf GTI, currently on order.

Hi, I just bought my 2006 Golf MK5 2.0 TDI with DSG and come accross this website. This is my first VW as previously I drove japanese cars most of the time. I do service and maintenance my own cars whenever I can and whenever I have time. I'm now looking for DIY information from this forum to help understand my Golf TDI. Any helps or advise would be very much appreciated. Cheers,

                    Hi all,

Been looking at the site for the last few weeks. Some excellent info on here.

I have just put down a deposit on a TSI 118 DSG.

I've always been a fan of golfs had several mates that had them in europe and a few mates had polos over here.

Looking forward to learning heaps about the Dubs here!

                          Evening All,

First post, back in the VW fold after many years away. My grandad had a 1303, sold it to my dad who recalls viviidly the joker who spun on ice (back in the UK) in front of him and wrote it off. My other grandad had a 1300 Beetle, complete with high-tech Heinz Beans tin wrapped around the exhaust to stop it blowing - and worked a treat. I had an early model Polo for a few years, ran like a train, only got rid of it as wouldn't fit in the suitcase when we moved to Oz.

My wife has just put down a deposit on a new Golf (Comfortline, Sports Pack, nice shade of blue) in Perth, was due to pick it up tomorrow - except its hail damaged. Trying to figure out our legal position. I understand EmuExport is in the same boat, but I've since lost the thread he was commenting on (CAN THE ADMINSITRATOR ASK HIM TO CONTACT ME 041 709 3497). Seems to be some smoke and mirrors going on with the dealer - the same dealer he is dealing with.

                                Hello,

I've just bought a Golf MK4 to fill the need to start a project car again. Its been a full circle for me having started off with a VW 1303 bug. and having just moved to Australia a couple of years ago, I hope to get a lot of helpful advice from members.

                                Cheers!
