I spoke to Doug about the cone placement but they are limited to what the insurance company will let them do so we can even get these type of events continuing.
The "anyone hits a cone adn everyone comes off" policy is also slowing people down a bit more than what you would expect as the cones are tight and no one wants to be the guy who ends the event after 2 laps etc.

I wonder if a 30 second gap between cars entering the track would make a difference. I know it's happy laps still, just thinking of improving the experience.

I must admit, I don't really have a problem with the chicane, it adds more corners. I like cornersI kind of wish they were a little closer to the karousel so I don't have to change up to 3rd and only use it for 2-4 seconds before having to start braking and downshifting to 2nd. I just keep it in 2nd most times now anyway and not go very fast because I find it is a little pointless changing up. 2nd is really, REALLY long in my car. I think the 208 driver will know what I'm talking about.
And yeh it is understandable why people go uber slow through the chicane, I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy that made everyone come off early. I could probably go through a little faster myself but I don't want to risk it just in case.sigpic TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.

The majority of cars at the event are FWD with only the R8, my Tiguan and the few Golf R's being AWD.Last edited by team_v; 09-04-2014, 11:54 AM.

I think Gavin was talking about Qld Raceway monitoring what is said and he doesn't want to get us in trouble by talking about it in a track event way rather than a cruise - I might be wrong though
Although it feels like you are flying through there if you get it at any more than 20km/h when there isn't any traffic.

I totally understand the bus stop cones and think they do what they are intended to do. The cone placement leading onto the front straight could be adjusted but still keep single file and pit lane entry clear. We need to remember that its happy laps and accept it for what is. A sprinted drive to put a smile on your dial for $33.50. I think its awesome fun! Great thing is we as a group are really well behaved and the culture within the group and on the forum helps its continued success.

No one is negating the intent, I support it and usually enjoy them, it's congestion caused by those not carrying reasonable pace, or braking 100m before. It is to be a spirited drive, not a brake and roll event, lol.
While on the high horse, some idea of racing lines and braking points would allow for better circulating and less congestion, albeit within the speed/safety considerations of the occasion. Just saying.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
