Yep, a trifle exxy but he certainly does take a good shot!

        ---

Nice footage! Cool to see the video from the Fabia this time.

Also I'm not sure if it was just me, but I found the first cone that separated pit entry and continuing with laps (exit of eastern loop) to be placed a little inconveniently. Maybe I wasn't letting the car run wide enough early enough, not sure. Thoughts?
        .
I thought you were a little tight on that corner as I came behind you but I probably did the same as I know I'm no professional so I make mistakes in line all the time. But when I got the line on the loop right I came out further to the left if the comes easily and at about 115

        Fun day though as always

I never saw the R8 on track as we must have been on opposite sides of the track each lap.
          .
I have a Go Pro HD Hero 2. Yes I never saw the lotus but probably for the same reason. We're probably all lapping within a few seconds of each other and only catch the ones doing vastly differing laps.

I did apologise in advance. I'm old and grumble sometimes but usually I am just grumbling not making judgements.
Comments made under stress don't count and I certainly don't really feel that way in most cases. Antagonistic really only means opposing so to a point I agree.

But there was at least two drivers going slow round the course the blasting down the straight. Not considered good form but largely tolerated because none of us are perfect. Least of all me.

Wow, you must compress the heck out of the video before you post it up then?

I have a Hero 3 Silver (Essentially a Hero 2) and the difference is night and day.

I really have no idea what I am doing with video yet. What processes do you put it through? When I put it through gopro studio is still huge in file size but when it goes through windows movie make its small but poor quality. ...tips?

                • I use handbreak.
It is a freeware video program that can be used to resize and re-compile video into different formats.

I downsize the video to a 720p resolution through handbreak and tick the "optimise for web" box and it usually comes out at 100MB MP4 file from the 1.1GB original file.

It might also be the video placement.
I put mine just below the rear view mirror using the suction cup attachment so there isn't much glare and the view is almost all the visible area of the windscreen.

Awesome tips. My video skills definitely need work. Will definitely check out handbrake.

Will be trying for better video at willowbank. If I stay well I'll be there (got seriously unwell just after the last event waiting for test results to see if I'll be good for a bit so I can safely participate)

                    Thanks Clay

                      • Brash, I run Cyberlink's PowerDirector 12 for video editing. I don't run it through gopro studies. You can get a free trial of powerdirector. I have a cracked version of PD11 trial which I can put on a DVD for you if you'd like. PM me before willowbank and I'll do that. I run the paid version of PD12. For basic editing, there's quite a few free programs available.

Happy to discuss more about gopros and editing if you want.

Agreed RE copyright, I don't like to do it this way when it's software related. Once I had faith in the program and understood the workflow I was happy to pay for it.

                            • Missed it in April due to co-driver getting drunk.
Went to general practise today to return 1:08:68 and a small off-road encounter with A1 Enjoy:

                              • Thats a good lap time!

In saying that the slow group was a real mixed bag of cars and drivers with zero overtaking rules (which were skipped during the briefing!).

May be thats how they run the 'general practice' event...

The fast group was less congested except that there was a FPV V8 (front tyres were super grippy Ling Long) that did so well on the straight beating everyone's overtaking speed (with 3-4 cars queuing behind him throughout the back corners for lap after lap).
