    Re: EOI: Car weigh-in session

Wow, didn't know new golfs weighed that much. Will be interesting to see how the medium sized cars of yesterday compare to the small cars of today... Im expecting around 1100

Jack point (sides) to floor is around 12cm. The car doesn't have any body kit/side skirt.

However the front jack point is quite further in and some jacks are not long enough/don't clear the front bumper.

      Thanks.

12cm is quite low. My jack might get under 13. Looks like we'll need Gavin's ultra low aluminum trolley wonder jack.

So can someone explain the process from which you would then take your little corner weight figure and apply that to set up your coil overs/suspension. I assume you would just take reading after reading until its perfect?

It differs depending on what drive train you have. For FWD there aren't many experts that totally agree but from my research perfect 50:50 weight distribution side to side and a 60:40 split front to rear is more important than RWD & AWD trying to achieve 50:50 front to rear and diagonally.

So Karl, is your floor perfectly level?

On the day I suggest removing the sump plug from Ben's car and using the oil flow to determine if the garage is level.

                    • That's a good idea. I need an oil change anyway and as everyone knows, (insert correct number here) quarts of old oil is the best method of determining garage floor levelness.

How many VW drivers does it take to install an intake?
                              -How many you got?!
