Adelaide: Monthly Coffee and Drive Meet - Discussion Thread
Also something that we can maybe discuss at the coffee night is the upcoming Eurofest event which is on in a couple of weeks time.
It would be good to have a decent showing of VW's at this event (both new and old). I know there's been another announcement for it over here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...-sa-90216.html, however nothing much more has happened.
Just looking at possibly organising a meet point (or two) for people interested in heading to the event and possible drive up to Birdwood together.
The entry fee is per vehicle and a number of the other entrants in the past made a family day of it. Would be good to see a number of VW's up there flying the flag.
I know that our "normal" drive day is only 2 weeks after and this may be "doubling up" a bit, however this may be a better event to bring families along to as you'll have access to the museum and grounds for picnics etc too.
Will try very hard to come to this
Will bring the girlfriend, she'll hear the word picnic and jump for joy!!! Lmao
Was good to catch up with everyone who managed to make it; a good meet-up as usual!
As an aside, I've tentatively scheduled the next coffee meet for two weeks later than usual, on Wednesday, January 8 2014, as the last Wednesday in December is Christmas Day, and the following Wednesday is New Year's Day.
Suggestion was to make the run to Birdwood tomorrow our cruise for the month... given that our normal cruise clashes with the Volkfest and a number of people are putting their cars into that event.

BMW drivers club are meeting at 9am at TTP in the carpark behind McDonalds. Departure is 9:30am sharp to drive up to Birdwood if anyone from North wants to join their drive they've extended the welcome. Urge anyone going on this cruise to respect the "rules" for this group so that people are welcome to tag along on future events. There's going to be a lot of cars on the road so this will be more of a leisurely cruise than spirited drive through the hills so please keep this in mind.
Are there many people intending on going/entering into Volkfest this weekend? Is it worth organising a cruise either in or out of the event for those not entering? That way people can catch up, have a coffee and take a look at the cars plus have a bit of a drive.
