Adelaide: Monthly Coffee and Drive Meet - Discussion Thread
That's what I was thinking. But considering the VAG umbrella is so big these days, I didn't want to start inviting all our cousins. Very good bloke, slowly modding it a bit, had an LSD retrofitted, changed headers and slight tune. His daily and tracks it a couple times a year.
Not for this cruise, more for future, and please say no straight up if so, but would a Porsche Cayman S be welcome or are we just pure VW/Audi?
In general I don't think there's any reason at all to be exclusionary. Obviously VWs (and Audis, Skodas, Porsches and Seats) are preferred content for the photos that people may like to take, but if someone's a car enthusiast who's happy to talk shop and enjoy a coffee/drive with fellow enthusiasts, I couldn't care less what they drive (as long as they take pride in it) - particularly if they're a friend of an existing VWW member. The cruises will always be predominantly VAG, but they don't need to be exclusively so.
A qualification: we don't want the groups to get too big for obvious reasons (keeping everyone together etc), we don't want to invite other specialised groups (so there won't be general invites for everyone on SA Hot Hatches), and we insist that anyone who joins us agrees to drive sensibly and to the conditions.
I'm relatively new to the VW stable, I have a MY14 Touareg, V6TDI which I picked up just before Christmas and my wife has a Golf 7R due in a month. (Almost like having another baby! lol)
I wouldn't mind popping along for a cruise from time to time. I also don't mind a bit of photography also. Nice cars and photography tend to go hand in hand, hey?
Cheers,
Aaron.
Lol....no I got home from bringing another vw from vic back last night and then woke up and realised I had to move 5 cars to get the Wifes Bora out for the cruise...more a lack if enthusiasm unfortunately. .
