I can't see any issue with 14th at this point. Please add me.

Yup as Ben said, 2nd gear will have you bouncing off ya rev limiter. Best to use the torque in 3rd and keeps the car much better balanced. I'd also bet a beer that you'd be quicker as the little jump you had in punching 2nd gear is lost during the shift from 2nd to 3rd. Likewise at Lakeside, no 2nd gear corners.

Going a little off topic, I've also done in gear acceleration testing with my lap timer which proves (in my case), I'm best to shift at ~6,000rpm, anything beyond that is actually slower acceleration. Happy to provide details as to how that's proven, can also assist anyone find that out for your car. But do that via PM or another thread

Me three, but only two if that makes sense. IE myself to drive. Wife to passenger, both for brekkie please.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about either track specifically, just a general comment.

The only problem I find is balancing the throttle so the front wheels don't light up. Second gear lights them up easily.
Yeh that's what I nearly always do (unless i suddenly find my brakes starting to fade). I use second gear at QR for turn 3 and sometimes turn 6. I tried it for turns 4/5 but found what Sean was saying that the extra power I gained, was lost during the change time up to 3rd. FYI my car has a really REALLY tall 2nd gear - don't know what Citroen was smoking when they gave it that - I can achieve about 115km/h in 2nd, 3rd being 145km/h, 4th I think is about 170ish. I just find it difficult balancing the throttle when exiting the corner to stop understeery action in 2nd, practice should make close-to perfect though

14th April should be fine as well, will let you know again on the weekend when I find out my uni schedule for that week (yes I have the odd late saturday class.....)

I'm happy to have a co-pilot and can show you the lines. I've done a couple of hundred laps of QR over the years, so should at least keep us pointing in the right direction

Steve_666, I'm happy to have you ride with me, if we can get this off the ground.

At this stage, about half (10) of those interested have confirmed availability for 14 April. We need 20 drivers. It could be that some people aren't following this thread closely enough or haven't found the time yet to respond.

Of those who have said yes to 14 April, do you have a non-forum friend who would be interested in driving?
