Lakeside Laps V11 - 15 December 2012

Here's the last ~5mins. Has some of Clay, Rhys, the JCW Mini and Integra Type R. The camera angle leaves some room for improvement, sorry. My dad was with me and had been trying to get an App on his phone to link with the camera, but couldn't get it working so had to wing it.

I'll upload the first bit in the morning, not as much passing in it, but more so sticking with the front lot of cars. I did 20 laps, quickest of 1:13.26, a few in the higher 1:13's, though most around the 1:15/16. I started changing my line on the last hairpin (up the hill) and was gaining about half a second for that sector/corner alone. Was sticking a little wider on entry, so car was middle of the road about 1/3 through the corner.

Hahaha, if you turn it to HD and look closely, you can see Clay hit the cone in the exit part of the chicane in the opening few seconds I thought it was rather spectactular, but my video didn't capture it well as the camera was on the right side of the car.

It was imported backwards, so the start of the happy laps is on the last page (you can tell because my wheels still have shiny silver bits on them unlike towards the end).

I've uploaded part 1/2 of my onboard from my car Unfortunately I put the gopro on facing the sky a bit more than usual

Otherwise it seemed to capture stuff pretty well, I might try a different location next time though.

That was great fun, thanks for organising guys. My brand new Pilot Sports are looking a bit sad though, and man do I need to replace the stock intercooler on my XR5....hopeless in this warmer weather.

Mate that little thing was set on warp speed this event. What Semi's have you got on? Anything else in the mod department to note?

EGG sorry mate the photo album you posted is set on private. Did you get any shots of the Devil, would love to see the look on my fiances face. The squeal's she was making made me deaf in the left ear and she needed to suck is few deep breaths when she got out so bet her expressions are priceless!

Also quote of the day also came from her - "so tell me, that black car that's the loudest and has the giant wing - how come it goes so slow?"
"That's in the finest tradition of rice burning my love."
"Huh??"

And finally massive thanks to Clay, outstanding work as usual and great idea to reduce the numbers!

They were Dunlop 03G in medium compound.
The only new thing on the car was new piggyback ecu.

it may be slower than turbo cars on the straight, but that LOUD and black DC5R did 1:01 something on Lakeside last Sunday's timeattack general practice!

an APR tuned Mk6 GTI with Federal fz-201 semis rubber did 1:03.56 just for reference

Really?? Unless Im delusional I had a look at your tyres and Im pretty sure they were Achilles 123's??? I bought a set of federal 595 RS-R they were great the first 6 laps, but then lost grip and started to come off, not really happy with them :S I'm considering replacing them for something better, any suggestions??

he's using dunlop 03G at the front and Achilies at the rear for less understeers lol

Is that with the same driver? It certainly appeared to have good front end grip (well more than me on clapped out Kumho's) going through the right hander onto the straight. I didn't feel to lose much pace through that corner with other cars, though the integra certainly gripped up and got out better.

Try Continental DWs, awesome, stick like semis after a few laps and dont wear out as much, good for a daily driver. Try TireRack. Brought mine for 150bucks each.
