I totally agree with both of you and that comment was hugely inappropriate (whether tongue in cheek or not), especially coming from someone whose job should be to promote the club to all VW owners - it is not an aircoolers' club only, so there should be no reason to alienate the watercooled group.

I respect the aircooled cars, but it's important to understand that they're a dying breed and from a club business perspective, there should be a very deliberate effort made to promote the club to the future cars of the VW brand - especially from the face of the club itself!

So what was said exactly? I wasn't there unfortunately but am still very much interested in the events of the day.

picked them up 2 years ago from germany, came off a mk1 cabrolet with 20v-t and MK4 GTI custom beige interior that the wife drove to her teaching job at a high school! lol

Friday

Well there was a big BBQ at Dub Addiction HQ but I had a good mates 21st to attend.

Cant say I remember much but this is what I got up to:



Saturday

Dang woke up not feeling so good after passing ouyt at 3:30am on the nature strip.
We meet up with a solid crew for the cruise organised by Ryan, awsome route with a good mixture of cars. So bummed I was feeling horrible that i counldnt hit all the roads quick.



Off to a wicked BBQ thanks to the Davies, Chris and Peter your father's man cave is amazing.

Stu and I headed to the carwash for a quick scrub and then some Dak laps, as some of you know Stu had a '64 big for the weekend, wow could it throw some flames on the over run. Chicks were jelly all through out Ringwood.

Late that night I made a trip the Sexy Land to purchase my new girl friend that most of you meet, see is a good sport.

Sunday

McDonalds always seems like a good idea until afterwards.... Again a solid crew of cars arrived and I hope you enjoyed the cruise to the show. Many higjlights from the show but some stand outs were Valver's Mk1, Dylan's bora, the UR Quattro Tresser and just chatting with every one.



A good weekend wind down was had a Stu's new lady pad and suzy got touched by Josh...



Thanks to all those who came along, drove, abused, laughed and speical mention to the interstaters.

What happen to the good ol days when the winners got a percentage of the gate takings ?
I was talking to a well Known VW mechanic who use to enter his Beetle he won often,Three weeks later theres a cheque in the mail for $300 to $400 ! These days its a lame ass trophy.

I know most ppl dont care about the trophy, Its about hanging with other Vw enthusiasts & having a good time.
BUT If there were Half decent things you could win Im sure alot more people would try, Attend,and mod a bit more then just wheels.

Was great to catch up with my mates there at the show, pity I couldnt have had more time with you all. Thae day went sooo fast.

We had a great weekend over there, wineries on saturday, relaxing a lot. Stayed at Healesville in a great cottage mit spa bath and power blackouts!!

Should have had the BBS wheels on my car so at least it might have looked modded, sorry gto those who didnt get trophies.

I never want prizes to be money thanks, its not what its about for me, its a chance to chat to people and enjoy the atmosphere of all the dubs and fellow dubbers.
