Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    i'd be keen for a meetup, haven't met many people from the forums and don't have much of a social life outside of work

        Who's keen for a steak?

        So moving on from the poll. It seems to me that there is enough interest to organise something on regular basis. What I'm thinking is getting together on say either the first Thursday or Friday night of each month.

        My proposal for the first meet is somewhere central to both the Brisbane and Gold Coast guys. What I'm thinking is the Hog's Breath Cafe at the Logan Hyperdome just off the Pacific Highway at Loganholme at 7:00pm. Should be relatively easy for everyone to get to and by that time traffic should have eased a reasonable amount.

        As some of you may or may not know there is a bit of a cruise organised for July 5th down the coast so for this meet at least I say Friday the 3rd of July.

          I'd be keen mate, I have taken that week off.

          As for the meets, if they are on a friday night, I'd be keen, not so sure about Thursday nights as I start at 6 each morning, and it sucks But its all good.

          Trent, are you comming on that cruise on that sunday?

            Top idea.

            Constructive comment: thursday night is late night shopping, so the hyperdome would be a pain of a place to find car parks and meet up. It's a magnet for clowns on a thursday. Any other night will be easier and safer to park.

            There's a steak house (actually a couple) at springwood, near the maccas. Parking will be a lot easier. The barra bar does a mean $15 steak, also has pool tables.

            If I'm free, i'd go to either place, either day.

                  I'm a maybe, bit of a long drive for a steak for me, but I'm on an RDO so I may go to the Goldy and call in on the way back. Thus the maybe.

                          I'll do my best to be there ..... not driving a VW though as the next 1 will only be here towards the end of July .....

                                I've met Jason and Trent on a cruise, once.

                                Trent, put me down as tentative for this mate (sorry). I've got a wedding on saturday and the fellow has suggest a boys get together on the friday night.

                                I'm still 100% for the lions rd run on sunday though.
