I'll put my hand up for Mk3 modified judging. Dom, Brenton and a few others were doing the duties last year and it was easy to see it was hell for them doing it by themselves for all watercooled categories. Same with Matt and George the year before! I reckon I've got ample knowledge of the Mk3 now to be able to judge. Let us know when the meetings are!

you have no knowledge of the mk3 rayray, dont pretendlol
thehawk, i dont join them financially as they dont provide or have anything of actual interest to me other then the show as i am more interested in watercooled later models then aircooled and earlier wcools .. but definitely agree with you though.. a group/meeting to work out the categories is a very good idea to work it our thoroughly / realistically.Last edited by fuzion; 14-01-2009, 05:21 PM.What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

Its $40 to join the club and they will listen to what members have to say, join and be heard or go off and whinge in the darkness or on the internet.
For your $40 you also get a free monthly magazine and free adverts in it if you wish.
Opinionated voices who wont join in we dont need.
We have been designing a standard plus category whereby an exhaust tip and some bbs or appropriate mags does not put you against cars with all mods done.
We also changed the categories so that you get points in each section, so that you will get credit for the crazy engine build, but will not do so well in the paint section if the fit and finish is not up to scratch. Otherwise it just becomes a cleaning fest. And the cleanest car wins.
Anyone who is interested in coming on board, come to the meetings and I will show you all the judging criteria.
Also the judges have to judge every car for continuity and practicality on the day.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

Good news - there is a supersprint at Wakefield :
Saturday 23rd:- VW Nationals Supersprint at Wakefield Park racetrack
So for those that are more interested in Go than Show - it should be good.
I hope to make it down with the GTI for the track event.
Would be good to have some more VWWC cars out to the track for this!
P.S. - other info & entry forms for the SHOW are here:

Being that their are existing clubs in each state I strongly encourage people to join their local "bricks and motor" clubs and support that part of the scene. If they die off the shows just wont happen and it will be down to ad hoc cruises.
I don't think we should let this get to an us and them deal, we are all enthusiasts who share a common passion... and lets face it, half the air coolers have a watercooled daily driver.
$40 a year isn't a lot to ask, it's about one less cup of coffee a month.

I've missed the last 2 years, but I won't be missing it this year. There should be at least one more "interesting" watercooled car coming this year, in the form of a 400+ hp GT28 mkIV GTI with a 400hp NOS kit80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html
