With the prediction for a shower or two, I'm wondering if we need to put in place the back up plan and head to Wivenhoe instead, as the picnic grounds there have electric BBQ's undercover (as opposed to wood at Somerset).

Russ the drive we're doing is a tricky one, and having lived at the base of these mountains my whole life, been over it many a time. Not one to disrespect, a lot bigger sheer drop off much of it than motorists realise. Growing up it wasn't unusual to hear of a car found that had been over the side for days / weeks.... found one myself actually.

C'mon Greg, I've been reading your posts about tinkering with the GT engine, so I know you have a sense of adventure !!!

I must admit though it's a good thing they put ESP on these cars, especially the GT, if they hadn't you'd been sitting on the spot spinning wheels all day long, even in the dry, damn torque
