Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Half tempted to go for a pre-run out there today!

        • Just adding final confirmation for me. Barring any unexpected flaming balls of death or other emergencies I'll be there.
So what's the final details with food?
          Cheers,

          • Sorry Trent, the flaming balls of death are on back order so I won't have any

I'm buying the food (unless someone else whats to volunteer ), Greg is bringing drinks. To get 2kg sausages, 2 loaves of bread, sauces etc, estimating $25 + whatever Greg spends on drinks - 20 odd people so far = no more than $2 per person

            • I've got 45 cans for about $40. Happy to keep whatever does't get used. A buck a can covers it, have a mix of Coke, Zero, Sprite, Lemon and some Golden Circle can mix. Should be something for everyone.

I'll grab some ice on the way over on Sunday, but they'll fit in my fridge for a pre chill.

Good stuff guys. I'll bring my appetite.
If need be, I don't mind paying a few extra $s.
I'll chuck some BBQ poking and turning utensils, oil and paper towel in the back of the R.

                    • Well I can't bring the back up bbq... Dad has laid down the law, as he's having some family friends come round for lunch, so he needs it... We should be fine with bbq's tho given the day and potential weather.

                      • Finally, confirmation

Hey guys, am in now as of last minute shift swapping, as long as i'm back in south west brissy by 4.30 or so i'll be sweet, might have to peel out early if things go real slow. Sorry for the 11th hour inconvenience, i hope the good grace of wolfsburg (god) will be enough to forgive me my tardiness. I'll be rolling with joe88 and alexx and some heavy maoris. Don't judge VR6 performance on our heavily laiden cars alone. Thanks guys.
                        Cheers, Kieran.
                        Cheers, Rudiger

                            • Right, I've been shopping this morning. I have 50 slices of bread & 37 sausages - reckon that'll be enough Greg? If there's 24 odd people coming, that gives half the opportunity to have seconds.

Only spent $25, so $1 per person is all it'll cost for food

                              • If the weather continues like this ... I'll be rolling over and going back to sleep when my alarm goes off. (Quite happy to reimburse $$$ for my share if that's the case.)
