I find it perplexing that people think they can hijack someone else's event for their own benefit, and are then astonished when the idea is kyboshed.

Get real here - VWCV probably spends a lot of time and effort organising their event, they would need to cover insurance, various health licenses, settle arguments between food vendors, settle arguments between their members who have radical ideas of what should/should not be in the show, settle issues from the local government, etc, etc.

To have someone jump on their show and potentially jeopardise their event and cause them hassles they don't need is just plain wrong.

Then to play the martyr is just plain childish.

    Rant over.

I'm with gerhard with this. VWCV go to alot of effort organising thing event, I'm sure they have backs to pat.

When you see a sausage sizzle out the front of wollies or bunnings do you think they just rocked up and burnt a few snags and sold them? No there's liscences, forms, applications etc etc.

IF it was a group of friends in a public park, having a BBQ with friends, it wouldn't be an issue. Selling/fundraising even to cover costs, brings new dimensions.

There is always two sides to the story! so don't straight away call VWCV the badguy. even if they are

What a shame. Up until a few days ago, l was really looking forward to this event. After all this kerfuffle, l think I'll give it a miss. A waste of 20 bucks.

As has been said, this is a VWCV event, if you want to organise something on the day within the event you will need to clear it with them. Sponsors pay good money for a commercial space or permission is given for a charity to run a food stall. That or the club is generating income to run itself.

IF howver you want to have something on Saturday or Saturday night, then thats cool, however start a new thread.

I think enough has been said on this now. Thread locked.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
