i definitely understand your concern and dont think it is at all disrespectful towards the organisers if you bring your own food... have done it for a few years myself as the food on the day is generally crap.

If you read my post. The concern was in the selling of food. I would love to have something decent to eat on the day and not have to pay $12 for it. The food there in the past couple years was terrible, greasy, deep fried uurrrgghhh I cant go on anymore cos its making me feel ill

Again not wanting to take away from the original post as it is a very admirable suggestion but do we need to raise funds for vwwatercooled? I was under the impression that the current sponsors supplied enough to keep this place afloat. If thats not the case. Im happy to donate more. Have the administration been contacted in regards to a fund raiser and if they want it to be done in their name?

Bringing your own food and having a BBQ with your own "group" is one thing. Organizing a "sausage sizzle" which may or may not include fund raising is another thing altogether. I would suggest that if one were to approach the event organizers to gain approval, you'd be knocked back for sure.

The organizers will have entered into some form of commercial agreement with food vendors. The food vendors would have specific responsibilities, as would the organizers. Exclusive selling of food would be part and parcel of that arrangement.

Have a BBQ by all means, but keep it casual.

Stupid thing is, Kombi's, camper's & such are allowed to have gas burners!

The said if I do have one, I'll be told off & if I refuse I'll be banned & told to leave!

I was also told that they're are plenty of food vendor's there (like I don't already know) & my reply was. They suck .... & there food is crap!


I also done alittle investigation after fuming over it for alittle bit, as I was told the racecourse people don't want bbq's on site!

Now get this, just to rub it in.

Other car club's are allowed to run bbq's on site!!!!!!
