crap that's what I was thinking after posting, so that wont work, there also isn't an accessory 'on' at the fuse panel, so when the key is off the subs won't be on when the radio is. grr. whomever designed this radio doesn't get how external amps work.

Mine does that too. I have spoken to sandy about it and I think another guy in the US has the same. It only does it when it's cold out...no joke. on warm mornings and after work it is perfectly fine. I am waiting for sandy to get back and the official release to come out before I exchange it. Not sure if it's a short or something driven by cold weather but would be interesting to see if anyone in Australia has this problem.

Ya it sucks that it's happening but my cold weather theory I shared with Sandy is obviously validated now. We will see what the issue is soon. Keep reminding yourself we have pre release versions and if we don't like "bugs" should have waited. I for one am very happy with this systems potential. I have used a lot of aftermarket "OEM" solutions and believe me, even with the crap we are dealing with the sound and functionality are miles ahead of the alternatives.

            • Oh don't get me wrong, I'm loving the unit. The screen issues resolves if I leave the unit on for 2 min or so then reset.

                  • Could any of you guys in NA confirm whether the DNS is compatible with the factory AUX port?

                    • Oh no it has that cold bug? My current chinese one has it too. It happens even in "20 deg" weather. I hope the DNS doesn't do this too. It is annoying because I have to press another screen i.e. usb and back to navi again for it to display properly.

                      • Did it again this morning. Took 10min to start working right. No FM audio either. SD worked fine, except the whole unit was sluggish.

                        • No love from the couriers today (DHL/Fedex/UPS/Startrack/Auspost/CouriersPlease usually turn up around 10-11am, 95% of the time). Bummer. Anyone heard from Sandy since he left?

This is not good news. Especially with weather the past few days in the 20s and low teens (Fahrenheit) locally. I can't see firmware updates fixing this issue.

                            • no, that's a hardware issue, not a software issue, not good! Living in Canada means that this radio will be crap during the winter, which isnt acceptable for a $700+ dollar unit! I still havent had time to install the unit, but seeing what people are commenting on, just has me overall concerned. These arent bugs that can easily be fixed by a software update. I really hope the ANS unit that my dad is getting for Christmas isnt the same. That really wont be good.

Wonder what will happen if these units do go back for hardware changes? Reading what Raymond said about shipping quotes is insane, I won't be spending another cent on this unit. We shouldn't have to, even if it is a early batch. the issues being brought up by cold isn't a firmware issue, its a overall hardware malfunction due to climate conditions, which shouldn't be existing if AS wants to have a quality product around the world.

I have a 3 year old 900 dollar laptop that works wonders in the cold/climate changes, why wont these 700+ RADIOS ?

                              • Wow, wish that posting was made long ago, hearing that will make me think we won't even see a refund from these units if we were to send them back, hell if we do send them back it sounds like we willbe out 300 in shipping fees, perhaps a call to PayPal may be required if things don't go as planned, perhaps I will just leave this pile of failure out of my car toll further word is said. Now I really cringe with the ans radio that my dad is getting for his car. Could be a horrible Christmas gift of my doing...

                                A) The systems show up missing hardware components for proper install
                                B) Hardware issues, that aren't even close related to software issues

These just add up to a rushed production item. Like did nobody test any of these units before sending them out
