    • Any update on whether you know if there will be any hardware changes in between the early and later batch?

      • I sure to hell hope there isnt. That would suck! If there was, they would likely re brand it a different model just to make us want to buy it instead, which was my initial worry with the delays

Yep... if there aren't anymore hardware changes, only software bug fixes, then I'd be inclined to go with the early batch and just update the firmware as the fixes come out.

Also regarding the add-on modules, are these hardware additions that will require the services of a professional installer to install? (Hence adding to the overall cost?) Or is a novice DIY possible?

Hmm yeah, I really hope that any hardware changes are just the modules themselves that would have to be added onto the device. However, no clue how you would install them, curious if it would be an internal or external module, if its external where the hell would it go? Last time I had my car apart I dont recall there being any more room in there.

I've had the ANS for over a year and it still can't shuffle from the touchscreen, still insists on auto playing the first alphabetical track every time you start the unit and still can't show the correct playing track if you put the iPhone itself into shuffle.

And as for promises/speculation that Audiosources will fix the bugs.....
I am aware that the two issues for iPod is that there is no shuffle and it does not remember the last playing song after shutdown. I've also suggested that people use USB / SD to play music from their car for this reason.

For the DNS, the fix is going to come when they implement the full music library function that will work across USB / SD and iPod, and all devices will be able to browse songs by song name / artist / album and shuffle correctly across choices. For now, the DNS USB / SD interface can shuffle the current folder or across folders and is a solid media player in itself.

              1) Will it start playing from the track you left the last time you used it?
              2) Will it go to the next folder automatically after playing the last song on a folder?

This is how my RCD510 behaves, if it is just like it, it's more than enough for me.

              Thanks!
It will do both, but as I mentioned right now it remembers the song that was last played in USB / SD but not the position.

It has been confirmed that there will be no more hardware changes. I will finalise who is in for the early batch today, but we do definitely have more than 10.

All great news in my mind, especially the hardware side I am an anti-i anything so the issues with the iphoney garbage doesnt effect me Bring on my DNS system! Now my next question is, I paid in full back in july, how does the discount that's been listed (think its 20) be done? Could I perhaps keep that on hold for a potential down-payment for the android mirroring module?

                • Do we have a rough time frame on delivery for those who've paid and want the early batch?

Ps: does anyone know if the DNS package comes with the blue tooth mic? My current model golf does not have a blue tooth mic that I can see set up due to being the old None sat nav model system. Although the wheel buttons have a pick up and hang up feature lol so confusing!

                  Cheers

This is the main reason i am after this unit really..

BT music stream is good quality, BT mic quality is average - it will sound like you are on speaker, but I haven't had anyone on the other end complain.

                          • The main thing for me is to get the unit to remember the track and track position last played. It's going to drive me spare if that doesn't get fixed ASAP, that would be a deal breaker for me.

                            • sandy please let me know when my full payment is due for the early release. I live in Canada so I will take the extended warranty for $20. But I got a $20 discount so can you apply that towards the full payment? Thank you
