I have a front and rear dash cam to go into my Golf R 7.5. Installation of the front cam is straight forward and covered in the instructions, however it just says to run the cable for the rear cam under the roof lining and gives no other detail.

My rear dash cam was mounted in the top middle of the rear windscreen, with the connector on the right side....

Does the bronze link on the cam chain trigger the cam position sensor?

Looking online at the procedure all off them talk about locking out the cams on the gearbox side and removing the cam gears. If I am only doing the timing belt, is it still necessary?...
