Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Recommend non-dealer service centre for small service and RWC

    Hi all,

I have just sold my MY12.5 Polo GTI on Saturday, but we agreed that I will have it serviced before finalising the sale, and I obviously need to get the roadworthy certificate (RWC) done as well. The car is in great shape so no repairs required.

The service should be a minor one as I have done the major 60,000 km service in Feb, and I have barely driven it since - it's just been 6 months so it wants some TLC again

Any recommended service places which know how to service a VW but don't charge an arm and a leg AND can do a RWC as well? Preferably in the Chadstone/Murrumbeena area (VIC 3163) or nearby.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

PS: @ mods: Hope this is the right sub-forum for this - if not please feel free to move this post to where it belongs.

Thanks mate! They are a bit far (40 min drive) but might give them a go if there is nothing closer.

Found Krooz Automotive in Murrumbeena. They have pretty good reviews, so contacted them for a quote. Let's see what they come back with.

            Thanks for the suggestions all!

I ended up getting it done at a nearby Ultratune. Cost me $395 - $220 for the service and $175 for the RWC.

For next time try Volkscare in Boronia. Nice and close to Ringwood!
