Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Recommended Workshop for DSG repair (likely clutch replacement) in Sydney North-West?

Know of any recommended places to have a proper diagnosis and repair for the DQ250 in my R36? Otherwise will just take it to my usual workshop (Eurowerke).

Have the exact same issue as here:

Auto Trans Australia do a lot of the work for VW and are considered the best in the biz in NSW.
Can't say you have the 'exact' same issue unless you've had it properly diagnosed. There are many different ways that a DSG can 'fail'.
If you have VCDS or OBD11, what are the exact fault codes logged?

        Could be mechatronics or clutches.
Given the mileage if the clutches haven't been done, and you have an AL revision or later mecha I'd probably lean towards clutches. once gearbox is out to replace the clutches the mecha can be inspected.

I haven't had DSG issues before although my Touareg is hard to work on as it's the V10 and the engine bay is really compact, I always take it and my Polo to Sams automotive in Five Dock, never had an issue with them.
