  • Australia Post?

    Hey all...

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with Aus post? I recently bought a item and it was express posted to me, the seller has receipts and a tracking number, when entering the tracking number it said it was delivered yesterday, however my brother was home and all day and didn't receive any knock on the door and I have checked everywhere and item is not here, was in a 3k satchet bag so would have been too big to fit into our letter box and they would have had to leave it at the door.

This is the first issue I have ever had with Aus post, I Facebook messaged them last night and they said I will need to give them a call, I queried if their driver had a dash cam or some sort of image to prove that he dropped parcel off at my house and they said they don't have one.. no card is at the door and neighbours don't appear to have the item. Anyone experienced this before and what would the outcome be? Am not to pleased with the idea of Aus post saying they delivered the item because their systems say delivered (yet item never arrived - to the correct address anyway) and thus leaving me out of pocket...

    Cheers !

If it was purchased through PayPal you can make a claim that way.

However I'd contact Aus Post with the tracking number and advise them the item has not been received. They will be able to track it down to the driver/truck.

It may get delivered today. It could be that the contractor has been slack and scanned everything in as it was loaded on the truck instead of scanning as it was actually delivered...

I'm guessing it will turn up today/early next week.

Yes usual rubbish with them Have had a few hiccups with tracking numbers not working and all of a sudden parcel turns up.
Have had an express parcel take 3 days and an ordinary one take only 2.

No sense at all with them and for the price should be far better. Have actully had parcels from Korea get here faster than one posted from Sydney.

Has proved hopeless to ring to check up on a tracking number as it seems they can only see the same as whats on the tracking page same as us.

Couriers are the way to go I have found.

They have become an absolute joke.

I buy coffee from a grower on a regular basis. Always express posted. Used to take 3 days. Now it always seems to take 2 weeks.

We have had numerous parcels set with tracking. Seem to arrive at a distribution centre (less than 10 miles away) pretty quickly but the last leg can take 2 to 3 weeks.

To put it into comparison I buy a bit of golf gear from interstate vendors. A new driver from Perth? On my desk in 24 hours. I also bought some camera batteries, same story. The difference is they use couriers. Oh, and the cost of freight is less than vendors using Australia Post. </rant>

I have heard that there are issues with customs that is causing delays with parcels.
Have had a lot of long shipping times recently.

Doesnt forgive the horrendous domestic delivery times though.

I can get stuff out of China or the US quicker than it takes to get stuff between states in Australia which is just crazy talk.

Back when I had my VR6 I would order stuff from the US (German Auto Parts) on Friday after work and have it in my hand Monday afternoon half the time...

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I did pay via PayPal however seller is a member here and he definantely did send it so I won't be charging back, I believe this is an issue on auspost side and I've currently been on hold for the last half an hour... will see what they say, thanks for all the help.

Took 2months to get a birthday card from Melbourne to South Australia with aus post.
Had them hit our front fence a number of times and deny it happening even with photo evidence.

Check your local post office, sometimes it gets "delivered" there, I've had that happen with one parcel.

I've had them deliver to two other addresses because they only look at the first 2-3 letters of the street name and not the rest...
The weirdest one was my parcel got delivered to a business in a neighbouring suburb, luckily the receptionist called my number on the package and alerted me.

Domestic delivery is a joke most of the time, cheaper and faster to buy something overseas.

Yes, 2 weeks for the small parcel from Melbourne to South Australia and then it was delivered to wrong address to, lucky me the man brought it to me the same day.

I agree, the stuff from overseas arrives much sooner.

The boss of Australia post has turned a good postal service into a third world postal service and he is paid over 2 million a year

                          Australia Post?

                          Guys

I run a commercial furniture business with about $ 5 million in turnover. A considerable amount of our business is on-line. We ship every business day to all states. Have run the business the last 15 years.

Due to many past instances of shocking service similar to those listed above, we now NEVER use Australia Post to deliver any goods at all, and while I run the place, we never will.

Unfortunately commercial couriers such as TNT, Toll or Allied, are not generally available to private customers so if you have to use Aus Post absolutely ensure package is very well labelled, you have return address, phone numbers, & you get tracking & insurance.

A lot of the contractors Aus Post uses these days are very lazy and simply do not deliver, they will leave a card in a letter box rather than go up a driveway or enter an industrial estate.

It will fit through the slot after the AusPost Contractor has finished with it . . .
