ECS Tuning Wholesale Account?

Hey guys,

Does anyone here have a wholesale account with ECS Tuning? I remember hearing from someone that ECS Tuning offers discounts to VWWatercooled members. I'm about to order new front and rear discs and brake pads for my Volkswagen R32 and was wondering if anyone here had a wholesale account with ECS.

Volkswagen prices:

2x Rear discs___$119.35 each
2x Front discs___$222.70 each
Rear pads______$112.50 set
Front pads_____$165.40 set

= $962 excluding labour of $540.

Had a quick look at ECS Tuning and saw their prices look far more attractive for genuine OEM parts. Shipping is killer though

I got a quote of $806.41 shipped to my door from ECS Tuning for the above parts which sounds pretty reasonable. What are your thoughts?

Scrap the brake pads from your ECS order and this will save you some money. Get them locally from GSL Rallysport (sponsor on here) and ask for the Remsa brand - awesome street pads with far less dust than stock pads. Ive got these pads on my Golf R and they are fantastic.

Infact, i would suggest getting them to quote you on the disks as well.

I don't know that I would bother ordering overseas for OEM parts to save so few $$$ vs the risk of any issues (however low).

I'm with Lucas on this one, for pads and disks I'm sure you can get better than OEM for less $$ locally.

Thanks for the insightful information Lucas. Can I run the Remsa brake pads on the stock rotors as seen above? My only concern is losing that vicious bite of the OEM pads as they really do stop in a sixpence, IMO. Do the Remsa's sqeak at all? I'm not too keen on getting DBA rotors as I heard from a few people running them, they tend to squeak, fairly noticeable with the window down and no music on.

What can you recommend Aaron for my Volkswagen R32?

So in short - if its not a fairly large price difference, might as well purchase them from my local Volkswagen dealership as it seems to be something like a $150.00 price comparison.

Im using the Remsa pads on my stock disks no problems. They are designed as an OEM replacement so no issues using them with stock disks as long as you get the disks machined before fitting the new pads.

No squeaks, no rattles and they work fine when cold etc...perfect. They are 100% like OEM in that respect, but with the added benefit of low dust and reduced rotor wear. The only catch is that the initial bite "throw you through the windscreen feeling" of the stock pads is reduced - which i personally didn't like about the stock pads.
