Don't get too excited about a recall, they have said they would contact 4000 customers, not that they would do anything mechanically. Maybe they will fix things, maybe they will call the customers to tell them that the issues are normal (as many have already experienced).

If this SMH article is to be believed, it's 4,000 Diesel owners - however it does link to another article which doesn't specify that.

Yeah I got one too. My13 gti here. Just offered us to feel free to contact the dealer regarding any questions we have and offered a free inspection.

i have the email. i have a my12.5 DSG 77tsi and email was marked as spam.

even though i have not had problems, i will probably still get this "inspected". And encourage everyone to check their spam emails, just in case.

I had a Passat service on Wednesday and my inspection consisted of " Any problems you've noticed"

In relation to the Thread title the weather office said Probable rain this week.

I would give the recall about the same chance

This free inspection just smells of bullish*t, i just have no hope in the dealers here anymore.
Most likely, you will drop the car off, it will come back with an extra 200km on it for some bizarre reason, and half a tank less of fuel.
