I've gone into N while driving a number of times (forget I've left manual mode and go for an upshift - I don't use the paddles while turning at intersections)
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

I've done this too, N should have a lockout.

The mob who set it up probably didn't care..afterall, it's not like the client had a leg to stand on.

I'm going to hell. I'm sure of it.

But the report said he did apply the brakes, only when he did this the speed actually increased. If you were in that situation, would you have another go at applying the brakes?

              Yes.

One was for my father when he wanted to learn to drive. He contracted polio when he was 4, so technically he did have legs, but could not use them to drive.

The other was for a vehicle modification I certified. Basically it had a steering column that worked as a normal steering column, but also was able to be pushed in and pulled out. When pushed in it applied the brakes and when pulled out applied the accelerator.

How many R&D dollars are spent, and how many levels of redundancy are built into a multi-million dollar airliner? Do you seriously believe that level of rigour will extend to all levels of the automotive industry?
