Don't know about an original factory 16VG60 Rallye, but there's 2 rallyes about using the original 16VG60 engines. A blue one in USA and a red one somewhere.

N/A!! You should listen harder next time a VR6 passes you.

Have to say I like the Mk2 overall the most, with its Lancia Delta vibe, but the weazy 4 pots need to be dealt with to make the car special...

      LIKE THIS... VW Golf MK2 AWD 900HP 8,65s @ 266kmh 16Vampir - YouTube

      My favourite.

I actually prefer 5 doors, makes more sense for what the car is meant to be, otherwise rocco/corado etc are cooler. NZ got a few 4 door Mk4 R32s awesome all-rounder.

        I love the sound of a VR6, but Mk3's aren't for me

That's a damn hard question. Not too long ago I would have said MK4 R32 hands down, just loved the styling, but in many respects that's fading a little for me now, if anything back towards the MK3. (I loved my VR6).

The Mk5's never really did it for me at all where the MK6's do with their more angular lines. The MK7 looks like it's heading down that path too.

If it has to be stock, well that just makes it harder since I want more power!

Without limiting to stock... Mk3 VR6, supercharged.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Really can't comment much on the Golf VII seeing as I haven't driven it yet...

Mk1 Scirocco storm UK spec model.

Was the flagship of the VW stable back in the late 70's and early nineties.

              Timeless Giorgetto Giugiaro design

Fastest VW at that time from the factory

Full leather interior, recaro's, sweet GTI EG 1600 engine, C/R box.

Owning 2 of these may make me a tad biased tho..
              Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

              Cheers,
              Grant...

The Mk1 Golf was one of the most important cars ever built in the history of motor vehicles. The Mk1 saved the VW brand when it was on the brink of collapse. The Mk2 Golf is a refined and improved Mk1 Golf (anything after the Mk2 Golf is completely different to the first 2 generations).
                  - Mk2 Golf GTI 16v, 2-door, Tornado Rot, BBS RS, 1988 - SOLD

                  - E30 325i Touring, Manual, Diamantschwarz x 2
                  - On the lookout for another E30 325i Coupe, Manual (red would be nice)...

1,2,3,4,5,6 or 7? Your favourite Golf?

                    Mk1 "the original, the best"

In saying that I love my mk3 and my first car was a mk3 they're a good compromise for some older school styling and daily drivability.

                      Mk2 Rallye or a syncro mk3 2dr VR6.

Newer cars start loosing there feel for driving.

I actually feel the Mk5 R32 is getting cooler and cooler now that it isn't just the most expensive/spec'ed Golf, probably my favourite for the moment, but an AWD R36 Mk2 on 15"s is the dream (although I very much doubt I'd ever attempt it).
