Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Correct as well, but I think we can all agree on the fact that the overwhelming amount of awesome compensates for any reliability issues, it is Italian after all...

                    • The HF Delta is a true beast of a car, and totally awesome... One of the only truly successful Italian vehicles that went better in forward than reverse, and didn't change sides when it looked like loosing....

I do agree. But not because it was italian. Just because it was awesome.

actually no, mk 1's can be perfectly reliable, given they've had some TLC, and are in good working order. Sorry bro, but that's wrroong

I think when you own a car as old as MK1 your definition of unreliable and safe changes quite a bit. What I might call completely unsafe and unreliable would be something you'd accept as second nature given you've been driving them for so long, to be honest the only Mk1's that don't seem to be riddled with problems are either ones that have been rebuilt from scratch or are just rolling shells. You're kidding yourself if you can call your regular MK1 a reliable car, let alone roadworthy but anyway here is some more inspiration and less BS:
