Weight would be an issue there though with AWD and the big 6 up front.
Wouldn't be too sure about that man! The engine is only about 20-30kg heavier than the TSI! AWD wouldn't be such a bad thing either getting a bit more weight over the rear axles.

do you mean that the R36 v6 is only 30kg's heavier than the 1.8T in the standard polo gti?
really? twice the displacement and 2 extra cylinders and only 30kgs more? im not being skeptical, i genuinely didnt know.
because i would have said that in a car like the polo, a 3.6 v6 up front, awd aside, would make it way too nose heavy... badass on the straights, but crap in the twisties.
