Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

          • Holy hell that thing would be a handfull.
Weight would be an issue there though with AWD and the big 6 up front.

Wouldn't be too sure about that man! The engine is only about 20-30kg heavier than the TSI! AWD wouldn't be such a bad thing either getting a bit more weight over the rear axles.

Such an incredible conversion, i mean really, WOW.

do you mean that the R36 v6 is only 30kg's heavier than the 1.8T in the standard polo gti?

really? twice the displacement and 2 extra cylinders and only 30kgs more? im not being skeptical, i genuinely didnt know.

because i would have said that in a car like the polo, a 3.6 v6 up front, awd aside, would make it way too nose heavy... badass on the straights, but crap in the twisties.
