The last time I ordered off them they took their sweet ass time getting it out to me for some reason, and their emails were badly grammared and they took their time replying also.

If they haven't responded to two or three follow-up emails regarding the order, give them a call during their work hours and ask what the hell is going on - make sure you point out you're a) Australian, b) part of VWWatercooled, a large Australian forum, and c) the length of time you've been waiting that has been noticeably similar to a few others on the forum.

Just email mate. They ask for your confirmation as they don't list international shipping costs on the website, instead they gotta gather what you wanted, package, weigh etc and then be able to get a quote for you. As with most international shipping costs, they can be quite heavy and don't want to catch you by surprise with a massive shipping fee. I've ordered from them numerous times and I actually have them list out the costs for the different shipment packages and ask them if they can wait for my confirmation before they go ahead with the order. GAP's service is formal and thorough which to me is very important. I've got nothing but 2 big thumbs up for them.

My experience have been the complete opposite - very professional and prompt. I do, however, go back to the same guy that serves me each and every time - his name is Mark Davison and can be reached through mark(at)germanautoparts.com. First order I made took quite long as there were lots of emails going back and forth (mainly me making sure everything is OK), but by the third order I've made, it came down to less than one week from my first email to receiving my items. What I do is use their online shopping system (place items in cart, proceed on to billing) and in the "special requests/comments" text box I just write "Refer to Mark Davison". I then promptly follow it up with a personal email to Mark and he processes it within his next working day and sends me an invoice and asks for confirmation. By the next day, it's shipped out and i would receive my package in 4-5 days (I've had one package sent on a Thursday which arrived on the following Monday). Shipping costs are quite high but factor in the cheap parts and the fantastic service (that I've experienced anyway) and I think I'm doing pretty good for myself.

I'm actually gonna make an order now. Will see how fast this shipment will get in.

                What comfirmation?

Every time i order, the stuff just gets billed and sent, i dont get a comfirmation email.
I dont find out exactly how much untill its actuly invoiced, and its only invoiced when its already been sent and money is out of my account....i know this because i tryed to add things in last min. I dont even get to choose shipping method.

The shipping is a bit much sometimes but it always arrives in 3 days (yes...3 days) and its always in the smallest possible box.

I suppose it really depends on who you deal with. Though I have always asked to provide a confirmation email before billing me.

Over the many years and many orders with GAP, I have never had a drama except for a CV joint that came loose out of its box and spread molygrease throughout the rest of the order.

The USPS insurance covered that cost of the bits that fell out the packaging along the way too.

                    5 Stars.
                    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                    Cheers,

I have dealt with Mark, Holly and Anthony, all who have been fantastic. I have done orders on Friday and received them on Monday... it's taken longer to get stuff from another state let alone another country! Yep, shipping costs can be ordinary, but it's only ever charged at what they pay, so it's not all bad.

I have never had issues with confirmations or anything else, I just order and it comes

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

They've always been great to me. No issues here.

I don't bother asking for postage quotes, they don't gouge on shipping.

Packages come USPS Express Air and arrive within a week.

Like Aaron says "I just order and it comes"

Geez, everybody else seems to have had only awesome experiences with GAP.

Im in no hurry to get parts, but it would be nice if I could get them in say.... less than a month!
I can only imagine some of the parts I ordered weren't in stock?

Ill give them a day or two to respond to my second email, then may have to give them a ring.
Im not upset or angry with GAP in anyway and plan to make many more orders from then in the future.

Thanks for replying, I was a bit rude in my first post.

Hey mate, GAP should have sent you an email with a tracking number for UPS. Check on the UPS site with the tracking number and you can see where it's at
I just ordered some parts on Thursday, expecting them to arrive Monday

I bought my brake rotors from them. No issues at all.
