Ahh I should have updated the thread.

The problem was the Express form of shipping I wanted to go ahead with would cost more than previously thought (above 70$) so they sent me an email asking if Id like to go UPS instead. I did not recieve/find this email.

But we sorted it out and an extra $20 to what I first thought shipping would cost, my package is currently in Mascot (Sydney) after only being sent on Wednesday!
No deliveries on the weekend so Ill look forward to seeing muy parts early next week!

bout to make a order from GAP later this week,

Whats shipping prices usually like? Ive just got a bunch of gaskets, hoses, timing belt ect...
I dont mind paying a bit for shipping considering how cheap alot of stuff is..

Also, when paying with Mastercard, do i just enter my card number ect ect, and they convert from US to AUD and pull that amount from card?

Standard sized box with smaller bits and pieces is usally about $60.

And yes, just enter in your details as normal and they will charge you USD, which will show as AUD at your end (ie bank).

          thats cool then,

Order is basically a headgasket kit, most coolant hoses and radiator hoses, timing belt, tensioner, sump gasket, shifter bushes,...
          that fit in standard box???

I've just done a sizable order from GAP too, inc. a radiator. Pity, we could've saved each other a bit on postage.

Also got a bit carried away on MK1 Autohaus (ebay store) last night too...

                $130.
Radiator and a heap of gaskets and stuff for just over $200. Can't complain.

Now that order probably will take a while to arrive. Does for me when I've ordered through them.

I ordered some things from gap like last week, shipping did seem a lot higher then i was expecting, something like $90. So took a couple days to think about if i wanted to go through with it, ended up being around the same for the band spanking new bits then i could get some things that were used around here, so just did it. They've sent it out and hopefully should be here next monday if the UPS tracking thing is right (which hopefully it is, as i need to change strut mounts before wheel alignment booked on tuesday :S)

The prices were pretty good, and shipping is cheaper than from quiffs. Not in a real hurry for the parts either!

This winds me up a bit.

I 100% understand if you save a couple hundred $$$$ that you order from OS but if its only saving a little just get it local. Dang I got new wheel bearings and dust caps for my Mk3 today at bearing wholesales. Cost me $46 for the bearings and $5 for the 2 dust caps. I spoke to the bloke chatted about his RX2 and supported my local business.

I always see people complaing about not being able to source "sweet parts" locally. Why dont you ask? Form a good relationship with your local parts supplier get some cheap stuff and support some Aussies.

                        End rant!

easier for me to order online.

I live a decent drive away from anything "decent" unless you call supercheap decent

Should have checked back with this thread.

I find postage is roughly $10 per pound in weight (if you go UPS).

You'd be surprised by what you can get from SCA.
I work there and if a customer comes in with a Part number for a certain part of their car, there's an 80% chance we can order it in.
By no means am I saying that it'll be cheaper though.
SCA is just more of a a store for your garden variety cars (falcodores and the like).

                              Yeah i get that ryan

But the people who work at that store near me suck balls, no customer service at all!!!

And i like the idea of GAP anyway, everything i need will come on the one day, not a gasket here, filter there, bolts 2 weeks later ECT ECT
