Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

many years ago, my girlfriend (now my wife) wanted to buy a car - I tried to get her to buy a Mini Cooper S, which at the time was around $4000. Her very clever accountant dad, who has no idea about cars, convinced her to do the smart and wise thing and spend the money on a corolla instead. when she sold it a few years later, for $2000, the Cooper S was worth $8000, and these days a good one is worth over $30000

            I'm easy,

probably make the polo into a low, wide body, RWD monster
restore the GLD to show quality polished everything and finally get those ATS classics.

then probably custom mercury lead sled with lake pipes massive roof chop and all white leather interior.

black lowrider lincon continental with with scuicide doors and alll red interior.

Super muscel car 68' Pontiac Firebird

*images as reference not actual car that I would buy.

I would buy a Tiguan... and thats about it.
I already have cars I love - the problem with owning so many cars is you never get the chance to drive them all.
I would just spend money on the ones I have.
This is my favourite that I already own...

Well, it turns out that the old man doesn't want an S8, so my list has changed a little

                      1. 2009 Dodge Challanger, 4WD & supercharged - Just for fun.
                      2. A5 coupe for a daily.
                      3. Give away my GTI and replace it with the Mk4 R32.. still twin turboed and off its guts!
                      4. Upgrade the old mans 300c to an SRT8 (if he wants it)
                      5. Lotise Elise 97-00 for my wife. (Great car for her to learn how to drive on a track)

Keep my current toys and do the following:

RX7 - Prep the car for full time race duties.
Charger - Purchase the biggest crate motor that I can legally bolt into her, upgrade the driveline, brakes, suspension to suit and run twin 4 barrel carbs,
extractors and twin SS exhaust. (and refresh all the original parts, paint and put them on display in a glass cabinet between two rooms.)
Mini - Just have the time to finish her off - RE13 cam, port, polish etc...
Mk IV Golf GTI - BMP - GIAC chip, R32 wheels, KW coilovers, rear swaybar.
