Corporate Discounts? Which ones?

I have been told by several dealers that VW Australia are now 'cracking down' on who they are giving Corporate Discounts to, and that you must be a member for a minimum of 3 months at the time of signing the deal.

Hope that is not true because my dealer said it doesn't matter how long you have been a member for.
And another dealer told me to join VCA to get the discount.

Ill let you know today what happens. But you have me worried a bit now.

When I bought my GTI, the Corporate discount included a drop in DD + a further X off the RRP.

I wasnt even eligible for a Corp discount but they still gave me 10% off overall.

Hrrm, well i signed the contract at the start of the month, so wonder if they would let it go for me as they changed the policy a couple of week ago.

If you've already signed a contract, I'd say that you'd be ok.

Well the manager didn't even ask for the card for my corp discount, didn't even know. But i pointed it out and she took a photocopy of it.

I would find that rule very reasonable, the discounts are there for the long standing members, not for every man and his dog who rocks up just to get a discount.

Funny story time, When I bought my GT, I got corp thru my then employer. I had the salesman check that they were on the list, as a few of my colleagues had bought Audis, so assumed that it carried across.

I just had to get a letter on their corporate letterhead stating that I was a full time employee and i was eligible for a company car.

2 days before I was due to pick up the car, they called to check, and it turns out that there was another company with a similar name to my company who were on the list. My Company wasn't......

I just said, yeah, thats them, and they accepted the letter and i got my $7k discount.

I had a bit of a difficult time finding which organisations offered the corporate discount on the forum so I did a bit of digging

those are the ones I could find, hopefully that helps someone out there who might already be a member or looking to join. As explained by most, you need to have been a member of any of the organisations for at least 3 months for the discount to be valid.

On a similar note, I'm having issues trying to find a 118TSI DSG with sports pack (black or united grey) in Melbourne that's ready to purchase right now.. gee stocks are limited.

I got my discount from REIQ (Qld Real Estate Org)

I got Corporate Plus just based on the amount of employees my company has. Had nothing to do with what I was a member of, or how many fleet cars they have. None of that was even asked. I just told the dealer who I worked for and was given Corporate Plus Discount.

Got mine, from the Planning Institute of Australia, and I believe you can also get one if you are a member of APESMA (The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia).
