& lots of other little bits like re-routing coolent lines from throttle body but i wont put all them down as there not that great or big

& still yet to weigh the car but at a guess ( judging from stock weight statistics & what has been removed ) we are hoping its around 10xx kgs but who knows.

On a side not ^Car was looking good on Friday at the drift thing Chris. I've heard the VR is pretty quick from a friend of mine with a quick rotor too.

        Nice looking car dude..

But either you're talking out your backside or your mate's EVO is a lemon....

Your VR6 sounds like it's got a set and those Evos are dogs with a boost leak so very believable to me. Most Evo's are very modded so it's not something you hear everyday/ever...

Yeah sorry. I still can't see it.

I know golfworx's cousin's stock Evo3 ran high 13's in full street trim with a pretty big stereo in the boot.

Then they wound it upto 15psi & it ran a 13.0 same spec with 18's & crappy rubber.

Now I'm no expert but, I don't know of any modded NA VR6 in OZ that have run any where near a 13!

                A standard VR6 is about 1200kg & you've pulled out approx 200kg's. Where from?

You weren't around when I walked past it the few times I saw it, next to a silver BMW compact. My mate said "See, you should have kept yours and made it look like that". You're Repping the euro well mate, much more class than the lines of commodores in that show. Nice TDi badges too.

like previously said my "races" where NOT from a standstill they where well & truely rolling starts

currently: all carpet has been removed, spare wheel and all that stuff, rear seats & belt, all the supports and braces in doors boot and bonnet and then theres lots of little **** like the plastic wheel arch covers & dust plates, but it all makes a differance i guess

I'm pretty sure Bugatti Veyrons are faster than evo's ... and I'm pretty sure you could get a faster car then an evo, cheaper if you put some work into it... anyway... VW's are ****ing awesome, evo 7s and less look like poo, and mk1 golfs are the height of motoring. http://www.driver.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=83580

Its not so far fached that a worked vr beat an evo.

Lets say the vr has 190hp (doubt it but lets say) and a stock evo has about 300hp. The weight difference would have helped as the evo is about 1400kg. So if chris has actualy taken out 200kg from his vr then the power to weight ratio of his vr would only be about ~30hp per tonne down on the evo. Then there is the greater loss of power to the wheels due to the 4wd in the evo which could put the vr over the top in whp per tonne. Im no expert, so i dunno if any of this effects the cars accelaration at high speeds but he could have beat it legit.

My mates 300hp commonwhore mauled the shiz out of a 350hp WRX at high speed.

add to that that off boost, the evo is going nowhere, whereas the vr has a nice fat torque band. people talk about power, but power is just a function of torque, and the more widespread your torque, the more time you spend actually accelerating, rather than waiting.

this is why we are all here and not on a honda forum.

+ remember and evo only puts about 240-250hp to the ground not 300 too
