Also forgot to mention that I won a drive day with Jim and Steve Richards a couple of weeks back. If you bought a Clio between the end of June and early August you went in the draw. 5 places available and I reckon they sold about 30 cars. Pretty good odds and I got a spot.

Was an awesome day at the Broadford motorcycle complex north of Melbourne. Picked up a lot and hoping to one day get the the little beasty out on the track. Good times.

The car is at ~4500km now and will be doing the first tyre rotation at 5000km. Got my own trolley jack and wheel stands now so I can do it myself no worries. Now if only it would stop raining everyday I would give the car a good clean and take some more photos.

    Cheers,
    Trent

Hey Trent the car's looking good. I keep seeing one exactly the same colour but with a 3 letter plate and L plates around Hope Island on the Coast. They look like such fun cars to drive. Will you join us at any upcoming meets (whenever they will be)?

So anyway I went to the dyno day on the weekend and put Le Panda on and see how we go. Results were a little lower than expected considering there's two 197s on the OzRS forum that have done 155.4hp and 162.3hp. I reckon it needs a few track days under the belt and/ore another 10'000km to get the motor to really open up. Either way next time there's another on I'll throw it on again see how it goes. I reckon based on normal FWD losses, about 165hp should be about right.

Anyway the dyno plot and some pictures.
              Cheers,
              Trent

I wouldn't be too worried about that dyno test Trent. The car is looking hot, love the black & white combo!
How is she coping with hot weather? My dash was reading 40 C today here in Adelaide but the engine didn't seem to notice how hot it was, not at all. Didn't bother reading the temperature via OBD but the needle was sitting at the first line on the left from the centre, where it always stays when the engine is at running temperature. Good to see cooling and the aircon are coping very well with our climate. Not a good day for turbos though

regarding the dyno day... if you feel there's something lacking, DNA tuning will get your car an extra 28nm, i think? (i dont really care about HP).

an extra few nm always comes in handy....

Lots of interesting comments around this place in regards to the Renault Sports. Seems the French are rattling the cages of ze Germans. Personally I still like and appreciate both.

So clean shiny you could try to eat off of it but the food would constantly slide off. Plus I'd then have to lay the smack down for putting food all over my car.
                      Cheers,
                      Trent

Don't want to stir too much but I thought I'd post this video review here by Evo Magazine of the current batch of super-mini hot hatches. Appreciate for the reality of things people, any crap like we're getting in other sections will be deleted.

I also really really like this video. Currently in the process or trying to work out how to retrofit this into my Clio as it wasn't released when I got mine (they say it can't be done). Renault Australia aren't offering it as an option anyway, but it came standard on the Gordini edition though.

that promo video is the goods, too.

shhhh, though, trent! dont want too many people thinking that these cars might be any decent to drive

Awesome videos. I would buy a Clio 200 in a heartbeat if I had the same thing happen as you Trent. I still think they are $6-8000 too expensive though.

Too expensive, compared to what? A Polo GTI? A Golf GTI before any options? Don't kid yourself, if a drivers car is what you're after the Clio is an absolute bargain for what it delivers. Just watch the EVO video again and listen carefully to what that dude is saying
