Thanks, its been an expensive journey ....

Had some pretty ordinary cars as well, need to dig up the pics on them ... (obviously less important to keep close at hand) .... including Opel Corsa's (Holden Barina in Oz, 1 x hatch & 1 x sedan) , VW Polo Sedan, 3 x MK1 Golfs (1980 1300GL, 1988 Citi 1800 Sport, 2001 Citi 1.3), Mazda 626 2.0 V6, Toyota Corrolla (1 x 1986 1600 Hatch, 1 x 1992 1600 Sedan) ... some where driven by my wife ...

Its difficult to say .... M-Coupe was most fun, like a go-kart, but very impractical .... BMW 328i was a nice family car, but ultimately too soft ... M3 was the best all-rounder, though the 325ti came very close (and much cheaper to run) .... so actually the 325ti ....

Yeah ... LOL ... with the exception of 1 Blue (The Isuzu) and 1 white (a Toyota Corolla), all the cars I have ever bought new were silver ....

The 2nd hands were a mixture between lime green, red, blue and white .....

Next one I'm told by SWMBO will NOT be silver ....

The MK1 16V T was an absolute money pit ... but awesome fun at the same time ...

Started off as a 1980 1100L
Bought and stripped a MK2 1988 Jetta 16v for all the good bits
1800 16V drivetrain
MK2 1800 16Vdash, cluster, brakes, etc
Strenghtened engine internals
ceramic coated pistons and head (combustion chamber top, incl valves)
Custom gbox internals - strengthened straight cut gears
Lightened and STRONG flywheel & custom copper 4 button clutch
Haltech ECU
Hybrid T3/T4 Garret turbo
Custom (and very expensive) stainless turbo manifold and all turbo & IC piping.
Custom suspension - front anti-lift & rear anti squat - optimised for drag racing not tracks
bucket race seats with 4 point harness
roll cage
custom exterior & interior - bare body rebuild - had no rust whatsoever to start with

It made 243kw atfw, and we simply could not dyno it reliably above that as it wheelspun on the dyno no matter what we tried when the turbo came on full song ....

Was as quick on a rolling run as a 2001 Yahama R1 .... 40-200km/h .... actually about 2 car lengths quicker ....

I often want to build another .... but SWMBO will leave if I do ....
