I don't know of many people (apart from Dom) who get's hassled by the cop's.

I put it to the test one night in my rusty mk1 when the cop's shut of the road & started going over everyone.

My front tyres were well below the wear indicator's (meaning slick's) & I got off with a "you might want to replace the tyres there son".
Then they proceded to do my friend over in a very, very clean V8 Torana & & they pulled him up on handbrake adjustment, washer's not working & wire's hanging down from under the dash ( they said it was a safety thing)! They also pinned him for not having a spare tyre!

Couldn't believe it. There's no such thing. A spare tyre is only part of a RWC if it's actually in the car & has to be in RW condition.

If it's not, then it doesn't matter.

vw's just totally fly under the radar of cops. too busy looking out for commodores etc. i keep reading that like some huge percentage of vehicles seized under the hoon laws are commodores, like 40% or so lol. bogans. ps what suspension you running OP?

Well I've lowered my fair share of VW's incl. my own & some of them nearly had the driveshaft's rubbing on the body & none of them have ever been hassled.

Sweet cant wait to have a tough looking ride that isnt a cop magnet, past 3 cars have attracted nothing but attention from the boys in blue and im a pretty sedate driver.

I agree. My car isn't low in respect to wheel gap but it's at a respectably low stance, my wheels poke out, dim indicators (why I was pulled over in the first place; they didn't see them at first and thought I didn't use them), and missing a passenger seat (had cat piss on them so they were getting cleaned) but I only got breathalysed and waived off, while my mate in his Civic gets done for no H-pattern on his gearknob (which I don't have either)... Yeah, it's a fair world

Rake isn't so bad since I have re adjusted the coils, although I think the VR6 have a bit of nartural rake look because of the low front lip and higher rear end.

As for under the radar... so far so good, although with my exhaust I really short shift when I see one of the boys in blue... safer that way really
